We are pleased to announce that the Grand Canyon Limited
steam excursion running from Los Angeles to Williams,
Arizona and then on up to the South Rim of the Grand Canyon
and return to Los Angeles has now been called a SURE-GO
by the Central Coast Railway Club-Central Coast Chapter ,
NRHS and Trains & Travel International of Reno.
We also want to stress to you that the Amtrak contract is still
being drawn up and is not on our desk quite yet. As of Friday
March 9 Amtrak's charter department advised us that the con-
tract would be sent to us very soon. It is always possible that
some last minute revisions could be made but we do not be-
lieve this will happen. Because of this good news from
Amtrak we have decided to announce the SURE-GO status
of this once-in-a-life-time excursion so that folks can now start
to make travel plans. We have been told that this could very
well be one of the last mainline high speed steam excursions
allowed by the railroads."
Roll Call... Who will I be seeing onboard?
