I was doing some research on rolling stock for GTW and some results showed Grand Trunk Railway and Grand Trunk Eastern, neither of which I knew existed. So, are they one and the same , i.e. Grand Trunk with different divisions or are they separate railroads? Google searching isn’t definitive.

Thanks,

Steve

Grand Trunk Western is a U.S. subsidiary of Canadian National, primarily for their routes in between Detroit and Chicago. It's not the same railroad as the Grand Trunk in the link above. As a Canadian company, CN has to have legally separate companies operating it's lines in the U.S. The Duluth Winnipeg and Pacific played a similar role in Minnesota for many years.
