I just purchased two brand new American Flyer #588 signals at an after Christmas half price sale. I thought and would like to use them with an MTH ITAD. However, when I took them out of the box, the signal as an "operating box" attached to the signal using four wires. If you push the red button, it operates the gate and red light and if you push the green button it operates the gate and green light. Is their anyway to wire this signal another way to the ITAD to iliminate the push button box? There is a yellow and a black wire that go to the box from the power supply. From the black box there are four wires connected to the signal (yellow, red, black and green), another wire comes off the signal but according to the directions, that wire would go to the track if you wanted the train to stop and start by the use of the push buttons, which I do not want to do. Before I go and start cutting wires, does anyone know if I can make this signal work the way I described above? Basically, I have hooked up other signals using ITAD with the normally open and normally closed wires. I am just not sure with this item as I see 4 wires going to the acessary.
