What are the options for single or dual track tunnel portals, probably prefer urethane for the ability to make it thinner.

Most HO tunnel portals are either made from wood or cast plaster. The cast plaster ones are fairly easy to rework, either making the portal slightly larger, or reducing the thickness of the casting. Some medium grit sandpaper on a flat surface is all you really need to reduce the thickness.

I tend to use Woodland Scenics portals, mainly because they are fairly easy to get locally.
