Has anyone here added a horn to an rmt beep engine? I would like to do so for my son but not sure where to start in terms of hardware. If anyone has already done so could you please let me know what worked? ( Or didn't work - just as important!)

How about a Lionel Railsounds boxcar?
I used a Williams True Blast II sound board in mine taken out of a Williams engine that was upgraded to TMCC.

I have a couple of small RMT engines(not sure if they are Beeps) and there is very little room inside for much of anything to be added, so any horn unit will have to be very small in size to work. Have not added a horn but rewired the front or rear electrical plug-ins that are there for continuous power for two units put together.

This is the best suggestion right here. Its what I thought of when I read the title of the thread.
I used and MRC ac sounder. I got horns and various diesel sounds. the small speaker will fit in the cab roof area. I used foam to deaden any speaker reverb onto the shell.
How about a lot of sounds and more?
Cruise Commander Lite Beta Test, Part Deux
Thank you all for the suggestions.
I really am not interested in a separate box car, I want this to be self contained.
GRJ, is that cruise commander system doing all that conventionally or through a lionel control system?
Also, the donor victim in this case is an earlier beep without the mu plugs, not that it should matter. I know my son would be pperfectly happy if it had a horn and bell sound.
This was an early BEEP, but it really wouldn't matter as I stripped everything before the upgrade. It has the Cruise Commander Lite and the RailSounds Commander, I believe it was the F3 sound set I picked. The speaker is a flat one that just fit in the ceiling of the cab. I punched a bunch of holes in the chassis to allow additional sound out.
You can run it in command or conventional, obviously the command controlled cab lights I used wouldn't work in conventional.
