Replies to a thread have an icon that allows the reader to show his/her 'liking' of the post. But I don't see a way to 'LIKE' the first or original post of a thread. Is there a way to do so?
Thx!

Not that I am aware of.
Look to your right. It's in a box on the right side of the page,

Thank you all.

Lima, as a computer science prof and programmer I notice those kinds of issues a lot. We teach the idea and have students practice in our Human Computer Interface courses and hands-on. It appears that once graduated, working students have to "get the product out quickly" and HCI issues become secondary, for when there is "free time" (which there never is).
Oh Well, it's not all bad: we notice the exception when the design is less than optimal, but when well designed, we don't notice it at all (as it should be).
You still have to note the difference between liking the first post, and liking the whole thread (This topic).
