All,

I used the 1.0 app on my iPhone 6 and iPhone 7 plus often when running trains.  Just updated this app to 2.0 on both phones.   I like the features added including the aux 1 button, but the Whistle, bell, directional and e-stop buttons were not working on my iPhone 7 plus.  My son's iPhone 6 seemed to work.   I selected and Engine, then pressed enter.  I could use all the  buttons to the left of the whistle, bell, direction without issue.  It seemed like these buttons were locked from use.   I also tried the same sequence on an iPad Pro running the 2.0 app, and could add engine, start and use the whistle / bell or direction button without any issue.

I tried several engines and then switched over to the set of engines ones.  Somehow when that occurred, the whistle, bell and direction buttons worked.   I finally found out a way to get those buttons to work on the iphone 7 plus.   I launch the app.  Select an engine and start the startup sequence.   At that point the whistle/ bell, direction buttons do not work.  If I hold the ENG to see the history and then select the engine, it will then the whistle, bell, directional, stop buttons are working.   If I select an additional engines, I have to do the same thing (hold ENG for history and select the engine).  Seems like those buttons are activated once I select the engine from the history.   If I move to SW to activate a switch and press ENG then I need to repeat the sequence to get the buttons working after selecting the engine.  Not sure why this is only an issue on my iphone 7 plus vs. the iPad or iphone6.   Will have to do more testing.

Is this a bug or intended functionality.   Is there anyone I can contact at Lionel to discuss this issue or go over the steps I did.

When I first downloaded the app, I liked the interface until I figured out you can't control the RPM levels on diesels (on this new update, could on the older version) and still can't control the Blow down/ water injector sounds on steamers. Also I can't access the train link feature in a lash up which was in the features of the new update. Overall I hope these issues get corrected and a new update to app comes out. For now, I'll continue using my Legacy remote.

icab version 1 worked fine on my ipad with ios 10.2 . With icab version 2 any screen with a  number pad the bottom row of numbers is blocked out. I have reloaded the app several times. The app works but there  some functions are unavailable because I can't get to all of the number pad on some screens. Anyone else have this issue on their ipad.

I've already reported this to JonZ and Rudy.

Marty,

Did Lionel see the issue I logged above when running the iCab 2.0 with an iPhone 7 Plus.   The only way I can use the Whistle, bell, direction, stop botton is to select the engine in the engine history.  Once I do that those buttons are working.   All other buttons including speed on the top work without require selecting the engine from history.   Also, if I select the SW or RTE and go back to ENG, the same buttons are not usable.

Although this may seem to be a show stopper, if I select the engine history first, it will work.  I am able to use the APP with this workaround.   I do not have this issue when using the app on an ipad or iPhone 6s.

Thanks Marty.  This is really nice app and I like the new features added to it.

I also noted one other bug while running trains tonight.   The Engine History list the engine id and name.  The name in the engine history does not match the actual engine for I have in Legacy.   Engine 19 should be my an Amtrak Dash-9 which is displayed on the top of the app.  The Engine History show Engine id 19 as a Christmas GP7 (I do have that engine).   Still, minor stuff, but if they are doing bug fixes, they can get this description fixed.
