First, I asked about this on the tinplate forum and received zero replies, hopefully someone here can tell me the manufacturer of this as I am not familiar with prewar tin. The photos should tell it all, measures about 4" long and fits well on O gauge track.

For what it's worth, Wikipedia says the stamping on the bottom is the Bing company logo that was in use from 1924 to 1933.

I just found one on eBay, it's part of a 1930's Bing trains set. Thanks for the tip Bob.

According to that Wikipedia article referenced above, early in the 20th century, Bing was the largest toy maker in the world. I have an undated 68-page Bing Miniature Railway System Catalog. The catalog is all in English and each page includes a Diamond-shaped logo with the initials GBN inside which according to one source dates it to prior to 1923.
But now the only trains Bing makes are Search Engines!
