I would make sure Arizona Trains are open, the owner has had some health issues. But go to Scottsdale and Visit McCormick Stillman Park. It is worth the visit. Some of the members on this forum belong to the Paradise and Pacific O Scale Layout, I have visited the layout and have ran trains on that layout.
Fountain Square "Ken Burlington" has a fairly big selection. As any store, unless it is brand new you are searching for you never know what treasures a store may have on it's shelves. We have some stores near me that do not list their "pre-owned" (as opposed to currently owned?) inventory on their web site, which seems odd in this day of internet searches.
FYI, Ken Burlington isn't open on the weekend. Like stated above, you should call AZ Train Depot to see if they are open. Steven has gotten some help and posted on Facebook they are open Mon-Sat 10am to 5pm. Other than those two, I don't know of any other model train shops worth visiting for O since Roy's Train World closed. There's a decent HO/N shop in AJ, but I don't remember the name.

Interesting. If he isn't open Sat/Sun now thru Christmas I'd think they are missing out on a lot of sales.
The McCormick-Stillman Railroad park in Scottsdale is definitely worth the visit. The Paradise and Pacific club is very friendly. As our former president, Dallas, would say - "Bring a train!" Overall it's a great park with trains from 1:1 down to N including two live steam gauges. Fun for everyone! I have a run day coming up soon. Need to check the calendar!
So where did you go shopping? The railroad park is great, though not a place where you can purchase items.
