I mostly use my Ipad to run the trains but tonight I had my Iphone.  Trying to add a PS2 3v engine to the list for the first time.  First few attempts it never saw the engine.  no matter how many times I did a refresh. Finally it found it, added it to the list but I would get a interrogation failed message.  Hit ok, it was added to the list anyhow and ran it just fine.  So what did I see?

I will add the engine I was trying to add was all alone on the mainline.  No issues adding it to he DCS remote or Ipad before.

Side question.  After you launch the app you do a refresh to see what engines the APP can find.  Shouldn't the APP automatically do a refresh when you first open it?

Gary,

I always do a refresh immediately after launching the app. I can think of reasons why the app should do an automatic refresh and also why it should not. Either way, it's no big deal.

The issue you're seeing is usually associated with the app being version 1.0 and the WIU firmware being 1.1, or vice-versa. At present, if the app and WIU versions are not both at 1.1, you will experience symptoms similar to what you describe.

Gary,

Interesting, as I've done the firmware update and the APP says 1.1

First, verify that the firmware on the WIU is definitely 1.1.

Second, does the problem present using both the iPad and the iPhone? If not, something is amiss on the device that has the problem. Make sure app versions are 1.1 on both devices. If both present the problem, read on below.

Try to replicate the problem again. If you can, then try to do so using the remote, and see if the problem presents using that device.

If the problem is present on both the remote and the app, then I'd suspect a systemic issue in the layout. If it only presents with the app, then try changing modes, i.e., if using MTH mode, switch to Home mode, or vice-versa.
