Over on G Scale Central, a member posted this photo.  Maybe someone here can answer his question

"Today's pic shows the grain silos adjacent to the tracks at the Jackson Avenue Rail Yards, Knoxville, Tennessee, 29.8.2017. The installation has an air of dilapidation about it and I am not sure if the silos are still in use despite the fact there are usually a number of bulk grain wagons stabled nearby. I wonder if the silos use is seasonal to coincide with the grain harvest, perhaps some of our US members could help with that and give an opinion."

I have not seen those Nashville ones, but l have seen some decrepit ones, apparently unused, come alive at harvest time, to go dormant again.  I am often not sure what l am photographing is still in use or not.  And then, many are in ruins, and others torn down.  This in U.S. and Canada.  There are books on grain elevators, and web sites, for both these countries.
