One of our forum members just arrived today from NJ. He's staying on the coast just below us. I offered him a room if he needs it, they are on the second floor at the Maui Ocean Club. He thinks he's OK. I think he is also. We are here to help him. It should hit in a couple of hours. Don

Be safe Don, hope everything is ok. We are waiting for stormagedden on the east coast so things are happening everywhere.
Best of luck Don and to your friend...actually to everyone there.
My thoughts are with you, your family, and everyone else in the path of the waves Don. According to the BBC the waves are expected to be in the 3 to 6 feet range, so hopefully not too bad. I expect they might re-arrange a fair amount of beach furniture though.
Stay safe, although I expect you will be out taking photographs.
I've been watching the news on http://www.hawaiinewsnow.com/c...ry/198303/livestream and it looks like everyone is OK so far.
I've been following streaming video on KHON (with team at Pacific Tsunami Warning Center) and it looks as if you folks in my favorite state are going to fare okay, Don. First three waves were under estimate, and the next set of three to six should tell the story. Better safe than sorry. Maikaʻi Pomaikaʻi, my friend!
You and your family and friends are in our thoughts and prayers Don.
It looks like all is well. The warning has been downgraded, and Don should have his water back by now too.
Don, I'm dodging hurricanes on the east coast, I'm still in Florida, but travel back to New York tomorrow. Might be a bit wet, I suspect. I hope all is well in the Pacific for you though.
Glad everyone appears ok. My cousin lives on Hawaii.
Hi Dave,
I am still in Florida today. Fly back to UK tonight. Flight out of Tampa already delayed.
Take it easy traveling north, The Weather Channel reporter looks like she is getting
blown around big time in Nags Head NC.
Monday-Tuesday sounds like it is going to be a bit wild.
Regards
Nick
I think Mother Natures out to get us train guys, us east coasters are in the crosshairs, our Hawaii guy is looking at a tsunami, and our Australian contingent is smack in the middle of the hurricane and apparently planning to follow it up to New York. Hope everyones OK out there.
Jerry
I was more worried about our little steam train. I runs along the coast. Also we got two new, very old steam engines back that had been in storage in California for years and years. One was the first steam engine to replace carts for moving sugar cane. They are sitting down by the Lahaina bay. Don
We are hunkered down in southeast Pa. awaiting the arrival of Sandy. My wife and I packed our bags today before we lose power, because we are headed to Hawaii later this week for the TCA cruise and now I'm hearing about a Tsunami Warning. I agree with Jerry I too think that mother nature has it in for the train people!

You could be right. When the weather channel just showed the most probable path for Sandy after making landfall, it seemed like the city of York, PA was going to be among the 'roadkill' near the centerline! Bummer!
Here's hoping it fizzles to drizzles.
Be safe.
KD
P.S.--Remember the family pets, too. They're senses will be challenged by this in ways we aren't able to imagine.
Or just the TCA...... a week earlier woulda hit york, pa and a week later the tsnaumi woulda cleared out the cruise .....

Just talked with my aunt and uncle up on the west side, Kapalua, and they said all is fine. Glad to hear you all dodged another one. Now let's hope the guys on the continental east coast fair as well.
Don,
We are stopping at your island on Sunday 11/4 and the ship departs on Monday 11/5 in the evening. We are scheduled to visit a plantation on one of the days. What is the name of the plantation with the steam train as we're hoping that it is the same one scheduled?
