After a long wait, 7002 and the Strasburg Railroad passenger consist from K&L Trainz is out, along with an update on the D16sb. I think that the update involved the brakes, because when I used it, there was no brake pressure, and I realized that when I was at 20 mph.

I have everything in freeware, the Reading T1 Megapack, and the NKP Berkshire. When I watched the promo video, I was surprised to find out that it was narrated by Rich Melvin (Great job on that video by the way). I think that Steve Lerro is a certified engineer, someone let me know if I'm wrong. I've seen GoPro videos from the engineer's seat.

This website is good for which version of Trainz?

No, it's not Trainz for model trains, but a computer simulation game. I still have the originla Trainz UTC PC Game. Also still have Microsoft Train Simulator I still play. Even for me at my age, I still play it. Actually it's the only computer game I play for if you want to call it a video game.

I don't think I would buy a train sim .... I'm more a Grand Theft Auto guy   ..... but I played with one at someone's house. I was behind the controls of a PRR GP7/9 building a train in the Altoona yards.

A bit tedious, but still fun getting the engine to stop where I wanted it to stop, things like that.

GTA, too funny. I made it into the cab a week after the release. So disappointed I couldn't man the controls though. If youve been taken out by a rolling sniper that was likely me. Especially if there was a Bugatti Z or buzzard load (heli) Pinned down from across the lake? My way of saying "Hi there!"   Lol. Those trains and mountains are my "hood". In the city, I use the interurbans and tunnels too. Or used to; been a year or two now since I played. No crew; cur rah hee.

The graphics and realism are nothing compared to these simulators though.

I can't run the real thing in my house and aren't capable outside of it. I don't think I could handle the vibration being a passenger either. So being of the first generation of gaming youth, the game trains are still of interest. The coin op/atari age had no trains worth mention.

I like the different aspects of view you can't really get from watching video too.

Better than real? No way.   Interesting and fun change of pace? Yep!

Just.imagine HW and Rich playing GTA.......

Those foul mouth kids likely wouldn't stand a chance, "a lobby of shocked silence".

(Half the games fun is put downs and bravado comming from young "ameratures" at foul mouthed belittlement. As an older adult, its sort of a "You play Sorry, I play chess" thing.)

In Trainz you can do what you want. You make the rules. You can run a steam excursion on CSX if you want. Run a 2102/425 double header on Reading and Northern. 2102 is by K&L Trainz, USLW reskinned a freeware 4-6-2 into 425, I made an update with the latest paint scheme, but never released it. The loco used for 425 was originally by Ben Neal.
