Anyone know if the pulling power among LionChief Plus engines is different between the Pacific/Hudson and Mikado formats? I was condering getting a Pacific, but concerned it might not pull as many cars as a Mikado. Anyone tested that scenario?

Anyone test the pulling power of 6 drivers vs 8 for LionChief Plus?
Garrett, check a couple pages back. There are threads on Lionchief pulling power and many replies.
Bottom line, everyone praised the pulling ability.
With traction tires on two drivers I would imagine a six drivered Lionchief would pull as well as an eight.
I have both and can't see any difference.
Since the traction tires provide a vast majority of the pulling power, I'd think it would boil down to weight and not number of drivers. It always has for other models for me.
I also have all three steamers. On my layout the Mikado and Hudson can pull a couple more cars than the Pacific, which will slip a bit. 20 or more, depending on the cars. I am wondering if this is specific to my particular locomotive that loses a bit of traction on the curves with a heavy load, and not a general case for all of the Pacifics.
Ken - my Pacific and Hudson pull just exactly the same. Basically the same loco and drivetrain under the diecast body. the Mikado is different but seems to pull that same as they do.
Thanks, all
did someone say PULLING power,
5 15" kline heavyweights,
11 18" mth streamline,
3 21" kline aluminium,
1 21" atlas streamline.
Wow, that is all the testimony I need
