I am wanting to install lights with shades to be mounted in the ceiling of a passenger train platform area that runs under the train station(GRAND CENTRAL TERMINAL). I want a ceiling light w/shade to place in the ceiling between tracks. This will be OGauge. I have not been able to find a source for shades to date. Can someone point me to a source and/or any ideals on how to make my own?? I have found gooseneck for walls, but I want to come down from a ceiling. I thought about LED strip lights, but prefer a light(led) in a shade. Thank you.

You should ask Max, he did a how to from his Port Elderly thread. I am sure you could use the same setup for your ceiling lights, Just don't make the light pole bend at the top and make it short like its hanging down.
Here is a link on how he made them!

5 for $7.50 shipped
I got mine at YORK from Scenic Express 4 for $20. They work and look great for O scale. They come with a bridge rectifier harness that can be hooked up to 6-19 volts AC. Call RICK at 724-523-2967 or e mail richau936@verizon.net.
Oh I just found his link.
Hey Pete, are those lamp shades or just some kind of washers? The look great and I have a 100 or so LED's.

Just some kind of washers. As I said, it was all just stuff from my junk box. I am not sure, but I think that they were extra washers from the installation kit that came with an under-counter toaster oven (or maybe a can opener). I never throw stuff like that out. I have a big box labeled "random plastic bits". At this point, I can usually find a reasonable approximation of most any shape I need. Most of that stuff on the floor of the engine house came from the same box.

Great to know, I never throw anything out either!

The thread also has some ideas on electrical hookup.

Back the truck up a few posts.
