First, as I walked in the door the young (early 20's) fellow behind the counter said hello and asked if there was anything he could help me find. I said I would like to look around but would let him know. The store is good size and well stocked, only took a few minutes to find something I needed...couple packs of micro electronic light bulbs.
Continued around the store, walked through their layout room, which is lovely, & then was asked by an older fellow if I knew anything about getting started and if this was a "good" store. He and I talked for some time, mainly about how I had started with my son, same age as his grandson (who was with him), while talking up the MTH starter sets another customer a kid in his teens added that DCS can also control TMCC...something he said he had picked up from Eric's train videos.
Wrapping up our chat, I spotted the end of train device I had hoped they would have in stock and headed for the counter. The young fellow was very friendly and we started talking as he rung me out, very knowledgeable about what the carry and what was in bound today from MTH, almost got me to add Tank Train cars to my bulbs and trucks, might have to stop on the way home. He thanked me for my business and said they ship worldwide so they would be happy to have my future business as well.
Overall great, welcoming, young fellow running the shop, friendly mix of customers in the store including the teenage kid, and I hope a future hobbyist. Can't recall the last time I have seen kids in a train shop, other than around Christmas, awesome to see.
I would highly recommend giving Legacy Station a try, they have earned some of my business from here out.
Best,
Jason
