Jason, you have happened about one of the best train stores in the country, Brian the owner is the best at keeping your order correct and delivered on time, I discovered the store when I was stationed in Atlanta area for a bit, They have a great selection, I am buying the Big Boy from them a long with many other items at great prices.

A while back I had been hunting a rocket launch sound car for a older Marine Corp military set. I noticed their add for a price half of what I had seen it being advertised for by several dealers. I do mean half. I actually thought it was a mistake and called them. It wasn't and I purchased it on the phone. I  always check them out for trains. Nice to deal with on the phone as well.

I'll keep watching because now, thanks to a member selling I have a brand new Army version coming in the mail and want the same car (army version) for the army set.

I have been there a few times when I was up that way and I once made a trip to Atlanta just to go there. It is a very nice store and I agree about the friendly service. Well worth stopping by.

Legacy Station is a great pace to shop.

Brian and the gang are friendly and always helpful.

Be aware, DCS can not control TMCC without a TMCC/Legacy base unit connected with a serial cable to the TIU.  Then the DCS remote can control TMCC/Legacy engines with TMCC codes. Since you have to get the TMCC(not available new) or Legacy base unit you might as well get the remote to go with it.  Legacy engines are best enjoyed with a Legacy remote.

I have both DCS and Legacy and enjoy operating both.

I wish we had a store like Legacy Station close by.  It's a 80 mile drive to the nearest really good store.

LS gets my MTH pre-orders and sometimes Lionel.  I've never had a bad experience with them, always outstanding service.  Brian, et al.  are the best .  When I got the Legacy Shay with the paint damaged by the eye dropper they replaced it no questions asked.  

I'd love to get a chance to visit them but it's a LONG ride from NYC!

Yes as said above this is one great Hobby Shop. Bryan is one great person and not to mention but, his wife take care of the large selection of Dept 56 which my wife loves and buys every time we go there. So this is a helpful way I can get my train fix while she get her Dept 56 for the layout. Also Bryan is in our club and helps us all the time to promote the hobby. Great place to buy and visit.

You will have to post some photos of your D56 buildings on the layout. This is an excellent way to get your wife interested in working with you on your layout.

Recently ordered from legacy station. they were nice and accomodating. I had a special payment request where I wanted to put half on credit card and half on postal money order (once I cash out my paypal and slush fund). A little more hassle at time of purchase but goes over better once the credit card statement arrives.  Legacy was very understanding and was aok with splitting the purchase and managing the delay in 2nd half of the total cost.

Anyway, have not received the order yet but I'm confident they're getting the items ready to ship.  Looking forward to see the MTH 4 car passenger set, add-on 2 car diner, set, single coach add on and 1 husky stack car.

The only disappointment was there were no MTH catalogs to give away.  He said he had nothing available at this time.  On the OGR forum I see the cool new mfg catalogs and always think they would be nice to have but realize these catalogs are far and few.  I have found there is a slim chance a store will ever send one through the mail with a new order.  Only on few occasions did a mail order store ever include the full catalog. Maybe it's their cost of the book, maybe it's the additional weight...  Maybe they save for their show exhibits...  Maybe because they sell on auction sites.  Even in the local hobby shops It's the same story.  I think it's less common for them to hand out catalogs (from their precious pile) these days, it appears unless you're a favorite or getting a high-five as you walk in the door, you're not walking out with a catalog.

Some things are hard to understand, closing early when people get home from work, car dealers not allowing customers to at least peruse around or even enter the showroom on Sundays and train stores not giving the customer a catalog along with an order over 300...  Through the years the majority of dealers I have asked MTH catalogs for say "no they have nothing at this time", this is something I have Found are more common than not.  Probably the reason why 14 years of MTH purchases resulted me about 4-5 catalogs.  Then again I'm not buying the big boys.  I'm a railking customer but some of the catalogs are looking to market on this level.  I don't know if generous is the right word but dealers who do part with catalog got an order or preorder.  

I contacted MTH about getting a catalog sent out.  Wasn't long before I got an email reply back from MTH (Debbie) that said she would send one out (that was two months ago).

Well that's enough griping about dealer catalog clingy-ness.

Back to Legacy Station Trains.  Great website, good prices, sale section, Very organized, very patient and very polite. They communicate well on the phone.  I like them and will go back and purchase from time to time (through their website).  However, will be in ATL area two months from now and will visit the store if possible.  If they allow me to grab a book maybe there's a preorder opportunity.

Yes, Legacy Station is a Super Nice Store, Tyler is the Young Man that is Excited About The TOY/Scale Model Railroading Hobby. The Older Gentleman, a Senior Kid, and The owners, ALL ARE SUPER NICE FOLKS.

I, like many others, are glad to have Legacy Station as my local hobby shop.

Brin and Val are great people and I enjoy my visits to the shop and conversations

on the phone. Everyone that works there has been helpful and pleasant to talk

to. Tyler is young and enthusiastic and knowlegable. He is very happy to help you 

out and talk trains. I guess most of you have seen the video their train tech did

so your in good hands if you need something repaired. I wish all of you could

see first hand what a great shop this is and get a chance to meet some very

nice folks. It takes me about an hour to get there from the house but it's 

worth the drive two or three times a month. By the way, I know for a fact 

that if he had any MTH catalogues, he would send you one.

as I said before they get most of my train cash. just wish they were open on sunday they would have gotton more today. I guess they will still get it tomorrow Need a bunch of track to do the new layout. with switches about $1200 not doing the switches yet I want to live until next weekend. and if I spent that much my wife would kill me

she knows I have a small cc for just trains but I can't max it pay it off in one month then max it again she catches on to that

I agree, Legacy Station is a Gem of a train shop!  I live 100 miles south of them and I make the pilgrimage at least 4 times a year to stock up on stuff I didn't know I needed!

I was in their area a few weeks ago and saw, on ebay, an MTH 4-car Southern Passenger set for sale. Rather than purchase it on ebay, I called and talked to Brian.  He said he'd hold it for me if I was coming thru that morning (which I was).  Not only did he hold it for me - he also gave me a good discount as well (on that, AND the matching two car add-on set)

A great place to take my grandson, it has a variety of items that not only interest the seasoned model train guy, but items that also cater to the younger crowd.

You can't go wrong with Legacy Station in Lilburn GA.
