Them was the days. Too bad l am modeling a Podunk short line operating gas cars and combines. Some gas cars may have used them. I'd like to see that and those of obscure shortline tail cars if any used them.

Ah. Looks good. I've been considering removing the silhouette strips and installing frosted light green plastic in their place.
Here is a picture of my homemade "IKE" drumhead. Did not have room for "I Like Ike" but have the figure of President IKE and VP Nixon. The drumhead looks better in real than this picture and it is washed out from too much drum head light.
It fits in with my 1950s time period layout.

I just went thru 3 of the Keilty "doodlebug" books, and found not a single rear-ended view that showed a drumhead (of hundreds of railcars, including RDC's, there are few rear views). But l bet there were multi-car RDC trains and gas electric hookups such as the long GM&O, and IC trains that must have had them. GE and McKeen cars seem ideal for drumheads with rounded ends.
Note the size of the LED between the red and blue wires.
Mike CT, always fun to “roll ur own” so to speak. Great tip.
I use these for upgrade to led in passenger cars.
