"HONGZ" stands for HO scale, N scale, G scale, and Z scale.

Post your non-O scale stuff here!

The "new" LGB produced and marketed by the German firm, Marklin, is actually made in Gyor, Hungary and not in Germany. The quality is excellent and the prices are much higher than the originals made in Nuremberg. The emphasis is on digital control. Like new to new-in-the-box original Saganar Strasse LGB locos and rolling stock can be purchased for less than the new LGB from a variety of sources. I prefer the original Richter-produced LGB and have a modest collection of the same.

Another German firm, PIKO, produces high quality G gauge trains which are actually made in Germany. They also have a nice line of G scale structure kits, including an impressive brewery complex. One of their locos, a Deutsche Reichsbahn BR 24, is one of my favorite models. BR is the abbreviation for the German word, baureihe, which means CLASS of locomotive.
