When were the Lionel Challengers produced please? In looking at some Youtube videos, there appear to have been several and one clip even showed one smoking quite well. These had DCC & sound as well.
Were they made by Rivarossi?

The Lionel HO Challengers were made in the 2003-2004 time period.
They were manufactured by the same factory that built the O Gauge models.

I don't know who manufactured them, but I have never seen Rivarossi in anything but plastic, and these are die-cast metal, and much nicer than any Rivarossi that I have ever seen or owned.
If you are interested in buying any, send me an email, I have multiples of every road # including the Rio Grande and Clinchfield, many still sealed in the factory shipping cartons.
