lionel 12062 fastrack crossing with gates and flashers

Hi Guy's, I'm having a little trouble with the gates. One works as it should the other just bounces a little. After the train goes by the one gate will lift and the other just bounces. Sometimes the lights work sometimes they don't. I looked up the item on Lionel support and see there is a pcb board and a motor driver. Do you think I need one or both boards? I thought I better ask before I really break it (LOL). Thank you for your time, John.
