An ALCO C424 in Belt Railway of Chicago livery.
2 Rail products.
Legacy Lionmaster modern diesels that will operate on O36 curves!
Jay in Ottawa
Vision Line Reading K1SA 2-10-2 (the biggest 2-10-2 ever built.)
2 Rail products.
They already make them. It's called S Gauge.
How about something contemporary like the New Mexico Rail Runner MP36PH and its passenger cars?
How about operating cars that work with Cab2 control and not need an operating track
such as : Milk Car, Log dump car and Barrel Car etc.
You can put me down for Legacy, Santa Fe F3's (ABBA). Four motors are more then enough, close coupling, no or small gap on the pilot and sound in all units.
The other thing I'd like to see Lionel make is to get their hands on the Western Hobby Craft Trolley tooling and Up-grade the units with Lionel sounds/control. I know it won't be inexpensive, but it will be the best of both worlds, great detail and great sound.
Charlie
Since Lionel has the NYC MTA license
I would like to see more subway sets
They should do another run with the R30's but put em in their very last paint scheme from 1985 (Redbird scheme) and it should be signed up as C
They should also make an R160 subway car since a lot of subway collectors are demanding this
And they should also make an R32 set as well
I wonder if the items for C1 for 2015 are already determined.
From what I understand 15' is pretty well planned out already and pre planning meetings are already underway for 2016. This is a critical part of getting the production schedule down to a science so they hit delivery dates when they promise.
then this list can be for 2016.
I would take a legacy / vision line Santa Fe F3 set also. Some Cotton Belt FT's with original paint would be a winner for me (might want several)
I would really like a:
Texas & Pacific 2-10-4
Cotton Belt 4-8-4
T&NO Sunbeam and matching cars
Heavy Mikados: Texas & Pacific w/ oil tender, St. L. B. & M.(Mopac)w/ oil tender, MKT w/ oil tender.
Scale F3's:
Kansas City Southern Freight scheme & Passenger
Northern Pacific passenger
Scale F7's:
Great Northern
T&NO and Cotton Belt
Texas & Pacific freight & Passenger
Frisco
E7's or E8's
Texas & Pacific
Frisco E8's with the horse names and the white outlines around the gold patterns.
FA's:
Rock Island
Mopac
Frisco
not all at once please!
Dear Lionel:
Please build to order a new Scale Legacy 4-6-2 Pacific. Union Pacific "P-77" style.
(Please do not offer a re-painted fantasy generic or USRA style).
My personal request would be Two-Tone Grey with White/Silver stripes. (NO YELLOW)
In order to sell more locomotives please offer matching heavyweight passenger cars. You have the tooling already from your recently released wonderful looking heavyweight passenger sets with additional add-on 2-packs.
To satisfy other UP fan preferences and sell even more locomotives and passenger sets you can also paint the 4-6-2s in UP standard Black livery. They would look nice with any UP Yellow/grey passenger Lionel already has available to purchase.
It would be a nice scale locomotive in a popular road name that can run on something smaller than O-72. This O-42 to O-54 would open up a larger customer base to purchase more locomotives. (Example: Mikado 6-11259 disappeared quickly)
Here are some pictures I've found to provide a visual example.
Thank you for your consideration.
In case you don't want to create something new. Then maybe consider offering a re-release of your FEF-3 in different road numbers. Again....Two-Tone Grey with Silver/White stripes and matching heavyweight passenger cars.
Here's a nice HO example of what I'm talking about:
There's always hope......

MOW equipment is a great idea....Legacy rotary snow plow, MOW crew car or any other MOW rolling stock would be cool.
I would like Lionel to create a line of WWII Military rolling stock, complete with flat cars with tanks, half tracks, jeeps, flat cars carrying long battleship cannon. I have seen pics of a huge rail mounted cannon that the SP pulled in CA. I wish they would make that!

Please re-release the Vision Challenger.
A new Heisler release in legacy. can't find one to buy.
A detailed, realistic, 1:48 scale, legacy version of some different trolleys/street cars would be nice.
18" Amtrak Viewliners in Phase IVb
LionChief Plus semi-scale Acela Express.
MBTA HSP46 locomotive or MP36
LionChief Plus subways. (Not more marvel characters - real railroads please)
Take a break from steam engines. Put out some modern stuff us younger guys and kids are interested in!
How about a reissue of the Legacy PRR K4, I have been looking to buy one of the Postwar K4's for some time. Can't find one anywhere. Different road numbers would be fine.
As far as new engines a Lionel Legacy Decapod with the long tender would be great.
Smoke steam whistle is a must on both.

I would be most happy if there were simply a more regular supply of catalogued items. Especially in the area of freight cars and passenger coaches. It is very frustrating to be able to buy locomotives, but not to be able to buy anything for them to haul.
I would be happier with fewer new items each year, but better availability of those that are in the catalogue.
Oh yes, please don't strike a happy medium. It tends to stop them from smiling.
I vote for a Vision Line Reading 2100 & 2124 4-8-4.
Bob
I'd like to see RTR LionChief + Hiawatha set with a Beavertail and the Mighty Sound of Steam that will run on O36.
A noisy noise annoys an oyster and I love annoying oysters.
Interesting list but I suspect it needs to be titled 2016. I would bet most of 2015 is already planned out.
I am probably the only one that wants this which means it will probably never happen. I would like to see theme park trains. Disney preferably but I would take any theme park trains. Maybe a disney monorail operating accessory. I don't expect that to happen either.
The Freight Cars section does not make any sense.
Front Runners? Atlas O has already made them in O Scale. What more can the people at Lionel do with them? The people at Lionel are not going to overlap Atlas O on something like this. There has to be another intermodal flat car that has never been made in O scale that Lionel can offer.
ACF Center Flow Hoppers is broad. Which version of the ACF Center Flow Covered Hopper.
The 4600 Cubic Foot Capacity version
The 4650 Cubic Foot Capacity version
The 5250 cubic foot capacity version
The 5700 Cubic Foot Capacity version
The N5b cabooses should not be lumped into freight cars. Cabooses are distinct from freight cars. They have their own section in the catalogs.
Andrew
How about some scale San Francisco street trolleys? I love riding them when I visit, and tourists may buy them as well.
Super O track with Scale Radii and Turnouts to match and several different degree crossings to start. A C & O Mountain (4-8-4) in Vision Line With Heavyweight Passenger Cars
How about something contemporary like the New Mexico Rail Runner MP36PH and its passenger cars?
The Bombardier Bi-Level Passenger cars were made by K-Line and have been in storage in China since K-Line was taken apart. The people at Lionel could buy the tools and molds that have been already made.
Andrew
Scale Legacy equipped F3s in Maine Central Livery
Scale Legacy equipped B&M Ten Wheeler
Scale Legacy equipped Maine Central E7s with 18" passenger cars
A Legacy Crane Car in B&M livery would be nice, too.
CONTINUE THE POSTWAR CELEBRATION SERIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Lionel Union Pacific GAS TURBINE (3Piece Set)
The new heavy Mikado in Grand Trunk Western (GTW) Should be a no brainer.
Reissue the Pere Marquette caboose for the upcoming engine.
Joe
VL extended vision caboose for the VL ES44AC GE and CP. Done up in somekind of flashing light display to emulate the VL engines.
Affordable drop in boards to change TMCC engine to Legacy engines.
Make this one.
Demo GP60 with SP light package and semi-curved nose.
The one item I would like to see remade would be the Hi-Level Passenger cars in Santa Fe Livery that K-Line produced. I inquired a Lionel representative at the April York Show and it was confirmed that Lionel has the Dies and tooling to re-produce these cars. Lastly, I hope that the price of each car is no higher than $85.00 per, or else I will have to use my retirement monies that obtain these cars.
jpcommons....you are not alone!!! My wife, my daughters and I love our Lionel Disney rolling stock! We are still sad that Lionel no longer makes Disney items. We would love scale replicas of the steam engine and the monorail from Disney World! If Lionel were to miraculously offer these items it cause me a ton of work because I would have to re-work my layout to incorporate the Magic Kingdom, which I would very happily do!!
More freight with FreightSounds/operating couplers would be great. Don't necessarily 3-packs but whatever makes it cost effective for Lionel to continue this line works for me.
GP-50, please
I agree that any input that Lionel takes from this topic will be applied to their 2016 or even 2017 products; I think it is too late for 2015.
For VL, I like to see a production PRR T1. Lionel has the dies but, unfortunately, they may be still wrapped up in the MTH lawsuit.
Otherwise, I'd like to see them reissue a couple of Legacy engines they already make with new road names.
- F3 Phase 2 in PRR green one-stripe, ABA or ABBA. They could make this the VL engine with all units powered with sound and I would be very happy.
- SD40-2 in BN Bicentennial colors and numbered 1876. I would MU this engine with my Legacy BN U30C #1776 to pull my K-line AFT cars just like they did when 4449 needed repairs.
Ron
How about a Legacy version of Amtrak F59PHi with Superliners painted in the Pacific Surfliner colors? I don't know if Lionel owns the rights to the K-line tooling that was previously made with TMCC or not? Everything else already exists.
The new heavy Mikado in Grand Trunk Western (GTW) Should be a no brainer.
Reissue the Pere Marquette caboose for the upcoming engine.
Joe
Except the GTW didn't have USRA Heavy Mikado's, it had USRA Light Mikado's.
