Hard to justify a re-run or new tooling based on THAT!

I think new tooling for a GE B36-7 would do well.  Multiple Class 1 railroads had them including Seaboard System, Southern, CSX, Southern Pacific, Cotton Belt, Conrail, Santa Fe.  Those roadnames are fairly popular and probably would do well sales wise.

Lets be honest here you got a better chance of wanting something they made before. The money it takes to make the dies and tooling would have to offset .. Lionel is tring everything they can do to make money..So if you want a visionline allegheny i think you got a decent chance at it...Diecast f3s abba would be insane on tooling the set would be 3k to buy and everyone would complain about the price.. Lionmaster is in the same boat your asking them to make a train that runs on a smaller radius then H.O. be cheep and visionline. Not tring to start a fight trust me i want all visionline nyc steamers...

But beings Lionel already has the tooling for the F units, it could be done. Enough of the steamers in the VL.

Ah I just assumed cause every visionline engine has been diecast. If they did them in plastic yea no issiue there it's just electronics .

Personally, I'd like the following:

Engines:

  • 4449 in both Daylight and AFT schemes with whistle smoke added (they can also do some other road numbers for those who already have a 4449).
  • 844 with whistle smoke added (again, they can also do some other road numbers for those who already have an 844).
  • Reading T1 (in AFT scheme, and before anyone mentions the MTH version, I have it on order, but I'd still like a Legacy version).
  • PRR I1sa #4483.

Rolling stock:

  • A Legacy scale Hot-Box Reefer (effects triggered by Legacy).
  • LegacySounds scale PRR cabin cars.
  • LegacySounds scale Polar Express diner car.
  • Legacy PRR crane car and tender car.

And above all, not all of it in one catalog!

There are some things I would like to see especially in the way of accessories. But we will learn more on these later this year but they maybe made next year. At this past York as I was talking to J. Don Reese I asked about were have all of the accessories went sine there was hardly anything in the 2014 catalogs. I then found out that in the 2nd catalog this year will have a large section on operating accessories some new and some old classics.

I'm still waiting for the smoke fluid loader and disappointed that the rotary coal tipple and coal loaders got cancelled. I would like to see some of the old accessories made to accommodate the use of fastrak.

Engines:

UP Veranda

UP 844

Yellow Belled Hudson

Scale NW2 Switchers.

more from the Heritage series.

more from the Postwar Celebration series.

Amtrak passenger sets.

Additional Passenger cars to finish off the 4 car sets like the Blue Comet & StationSounds Diners for the sets without Diners.

Legacy controlled operating cars.

WWII era flat cars with military loads.

Why don't you build it yourself.

I don't think I'd know where to start!  I've never built one.

Maybe ask Accucraft and see if they would build it and other berks. Accucraft I thinks makes live steam engines but I'm not sure.

Andy don't forget when 4449 was painted in black for BNSF's Employee Appreciation Special back in July of 2000.

Where do I start?!?

How about some Northern Pacific steam.

A3 4-8-4 NP Northern

A4 4-8-4 NP Northern

Z NP Challenger

These are other things I would like to see

Spokane, Portland & Seattle 700 4-8-4

Montana Rail Link SD40-2

Montana Rail Link SD70Ace

More NP, Milwaukee Road, Great Northern, Montana Rail Link, BN rolling stock

Wisconsin Central SD40-2

Wisconsin & Southern SD40-2 with the Grow Wisconsin Herald

Milwaukee Road SD40-2

Milwaukee Road GP30

Soo Line GP30

Wisconsin Central GP30

The concept of More Rolling Stock for

Northern Pacific

Milwaukee Road

Great Northern

Montana Rail Link

Burlington Northern

Would need to be carefully examined.

What Lionel specifically has missed for Burlington Northern are the correct graphic schemes, numbers, and trucks for the Three-bay, Open-Top Hoppers.

The 1970's era Milwaukee Road and Burlington Northern Auto Racks on TTGX TRAILER TRAIN 89' Flat Cars.

The Great Northern that they have to do is O Scale Big Sky Blue scheme ACF Center Flow 3-bay Hoppers, Black Three-bay, Open-top Hoppers, the gray PS-2 2-Bay Covered Hoppers, the Pullman-Standard 60' Boxcar.

The Northern Pacific Pullman-Standard 60' Boxcar, ACF Center Flow 3-bay covered hopper, 50' double-door boxcar, and gondola could be produced.

Milwaukee Road had 5 ACF Center Flow 4650 3-bay covered hoppers. The Milwaukee Lionel Railroad Club has had many Milwaukee Road cars made by Lionel.

Montana Rail Link is harder for Lionel to do since they only have a few freight cars that match the ones on MRL roster. The ACF Center Flow 3-bay covered hopper in the early graphics and the MRL 21127 Modern 50' Boxcar are among the few matches.

That is it.

Alright. I wasn't going to jump in here, but I thought of something. That old large American Flyer caboose that had both the bay window and cupola. Lionel removed the cupola and made a rather nice bay window out of it.

On the other hand, if the tooling isn't too modified, the could remove the bay window, and keep the cupola, and get a CB&Q, Wabash, and even Ann Arbor caboose out of it. Plugging the bay window may give opportunities to change the windows on the side as well.

thAnd of course the caboose can always appear in Christmas, Polar Express, Area 51, Halloween and NASCAR decoration to get mileage out of this variant.

I'll second that.

Speaking of putting military loads on PS4 flatcars doesn't Lionel now do the Nascar die cast race cars? Should not be hard to start producing die cast 1/48 tanks, half tracks, etc. keep the work in house. MTH got their Sherman tanks from Hobby Masters I think. Lionel should be able to sell for less (ha, ha)

Since Lionel appears to have some focus on the modern freight car era (as evidenced by the ethanol tank cars, 89' auto racks, and now the 86' high cube box cars), perhaps they are the manufacturer to produce a modern intermodal car. Specifically: the 3-unit articulated 53' well double stack car. Any of the very common models from Trinity, Greenbrier, or NSC would be terrific.

Just one request:

Canadian Pacific High cuppola woodside caboose in the tuscan/ red/ Black colors with either the square or scribe lettering.

Not one has produce this item that would be welcome by all of us who have Canadian Pacific rolling stock but not the most common caboose on the CPR lines in the 40-50'.

Lionel has the mold, just need to do the colors and the lettering.
