Dave, that’s a great memory of past offerings.  I couldn’t do it.
With that wish list you have a chance of getting one of them.

I did have to cheat a bit Mark. I couldn't remember what the H7's were called. I knew what they looked like, just couldn't remember the name. I'd like to see those come around again. The front of them is very interesting with whatever it is up there(air tanks or whatever). I think that is why I like them. Sort of like how the C&O Mallet's have what's on the front of them. Adds character as well as whatever functionality it is.

Atlas does catalogues, but not of the traditional large annual sort.  Not sure if they are available in hard copy still or just on-line.  I suspect as long as they produce MTH's products they will do some sort of catalog, although I'd guess nothing like MTH's twice yearly big books.  Better than nothing for sure.

Atlas hasn't done a printed catalog in about 5 years, they are strictly PDF monthly releases, sometimes every couple of months.

Right now, even with the acquisition of MTH Premier tooling, Atlas can't get out of their own way. I just learned of some production snafus after speaking with Beth Marshall (The Public Delivery Track) this afternoon.

I could care less about printed catalogs, ever see one from 3rd Rail / Golden Gate Depot ? It's the quality of the product that counts.

Sure quality counts. Quality, however, is not incompatible with quantity as Lionel has demonstrated with its large catalogs.  Solid companies like Lionel can do both.

I’m excited to see what Lionel has in store for us with their next catalog. Judging from all the threads and posts on the Lionel catalog , I am not alone in my anticipation!

I model in 2-rail and I still like perusing thru new catalogs, mostly looking for stuff to convert to 2-rail.

I have a Lionel PS-2 2 bay hopper and bay window caboose from the last catalog pre-ordered that Charles Ro is showing a July 10th delivery. I've converted 4 Lionel PS-2's to 2 rail and 2 Lionel NE cabooses to 2 rail and I will put them right up with any other rolling stock when it comes to detail and scale fidelity.

Unfortunate but not surprising. New enterprises involve lots of change and that's challenging. Let's cut them some slack, perhaps, and hope for future success.  Taking over someone else's factory cannot be a simple undertaking, for one thing, when there is no common language in all likelihood.  Takes time to build trust and relationships.

Received the new "Premier" catalog in the mail yesterday. Autoracks are a home run! Hopeful they can use their Atlas magic to make the MTH offerings look proper. Now we're ready for the new Lionel offerings.

I ordered some of the Atlas/MTH passenger cars they had, B&O and one of the Southern offerings. Sort of wondering what Lionel will have in the way of passenger cars this time around.

You know, the other night when I posted the list of engines we've seen and some stuff I'd like to see, I had actually been looking on a New York Central Roster that covered every steam engine they had(at least I think so considering the source). One particular thing of note was engines we scarcely see from any railroad save for the very few, switchers. There are always a great variety of switchers out there in the world and some I didn't even think about. The only other engines which I had not really known until recently were some of the articulated ones for the Central. What would be nice is the acquisition engines from the B&A and other railroads. I believe that someone had mentioned before that the B&A had some Berks that the Central wound up with and so far only MTH has made one that I know of(though don't know if it was an acquisition engine). Would be nice.

Right now, I'm hoping to see what the next brass hybrid engine will be.

That would definitely be interesting, and we know that they are beyond testing the waters. So, the question is, what would they try next? I suppose that this greatly depends on the hours and hours of research they have done on their next set of projects, and which they would deem viable to go the brass route. Perhaps Strasburg #90 is slated to be a brass model, but who can say since nothing has come of that yet.

I think we’ll see berks this catalog since it’s been a little while. They have the tooling from the K-Line B&A berks. I might bite on a rerun of the K-line green B&A berk.

I also think we’ll see more milk cars. Lionel has to run the new couplers anyway and the METCA cars that didn’t pass QC. They’re going to be itching to utilize the new tooling and dilute those development costs through volume. I just wish they’d offer more road numbers. Hoping to see other Rutland schemes, Abotts Dairy, D&H, and Lehigh Valley

Didn't pass QC? Hmm, the consumers or theirs? I know a bunch of us got them and have had issues, but I don't recall anyone from Lionel stating that there was a great issue where they couldn't send them along because they didn't pass QC. I know that only a few consumers had no real issues at all with them coupling which I find absolutely amazing considering how well of a test Superwarp(aka Gary) gave them. While I definitely would like to see more Milk cars, I hope that they go back to the old couplers.

I also would like to see the Berks, more of what we never see like B&A.

For this catalog, I just want Lionel to continue releasing AFT cars as they promised.  They could release three cars right now using the molds from previous releases and just changing the car number.  Their previous entrance car #100 can easily be either car #33 or #34.  Or better yet, use their recently introduced NYC baggage cars for #33 and #34.

Their earlier exit car #111 can be power car #200 without any changes.  And if they did new tooling, how about the 85' flatcar that many rail roads used.

The two showcase cars would be unique and expensive, but Lionel said they would do them.  These will probably be the last ones released, if ever.

Yes, METCA had two special run cars that didn’t pass QC due to lettering issues on top of the known coupler issues. I preordered all of the last run and sent Lionel some operating videos of the issue from my layout. They’re supposed to be making new couplers.

Ah. So what happened with the METCA stuff? Did they make replacements for the letter?

Did Lionel do a press release or anything about making new couplers? Last I heard was zilch.

They never shipped. They’re being rerun and shooting to deliver before end of the year.

I never saw a press release but Lionel customer service told me they were hoping to have replacements ship by end of year. I don’t think they usually do press releases for these misses just handle the complaints as they come in.
