One of our vendors has this engine for sale.   It's the Smithsonian Edition with Railsounds (2.5?) smoke, etc.

Is  the drive train lit?  (under the walkways)

Supposed to have excellent detail; is this also true of the cab detail?

How does it run; smoke decent?

Thank you

The Smithsonian loco, tender & matching cars were made for Lionel by Fine Art Models, in Mich. I bought one when they were offered by direct mail from Lionel & the detail is astonishing. I've checked my engine & I don't see any "drive train lighting. I've never run it; it makes for a handsome display item!

But, and I certainly may be mis-remembering, weren't these only offered in 2-rail

format? I have a hazy recollection of that; I've done no current research on it.

Of course, that may be just fine.

6-18027 was the 3 rail version. 6-18026 was the 2 rail version. I believe the matching passenger cars were 2 rail only.

MTH's premier Dreyfusses all have illuminated drivers and look fantastic IMO.
