Lionel and the Aero Train??

Precisely because MTH has done it, I would think. This model has a relatively small fan base, probably - though it does have one. Even I appreciate it, partly humorously, because it looks for all the world like a '59 Chevrolet pulling a bunch of city buses. That styling didn't look good on the Chevrolet, either.

If you prefer Lionel's operating system, the MTH model could be pretty easily converted to ERR (TMCC) Command/Railsounds.

If Lionel were to consider a funky aerotrain, I would STRONGLY suggest the Anglo - Franco and the Rohr  turbo liner trains. They are unique and we're done in several schemes and phases. With a modular cab for the power units, you can do both versions! 

I wouldn't want to see Lionel waste precious capital on a model that's been done already in two runs with a limited fan base.
