I have a lionel E6 part number 6-28706 That I want to convert to ERR electronics. It currently has TMCC/RS5 and a wireless tether. In the conversion, I'd like to change the bulbs to LEDs and upgrade the smoke unit. Should I use the Cruise commander (not the M) unit for the upgrade? I can post photos of the inside of the unit if need be.

Since it already has TMCC, I'd use the CC-M to add the cruise. It would be a lot more work to use the standard CC as fitting it in may be a challenge, not to mention dealing with the wireless tether.

Alright, I think I'll just go with that. Can I still use the original sound system in the tender? And do I need to do anything with the motor as it already has the sensor board on it.
Yep, the sound doesn't change. Since the CC-M doesn't use the flywheel sensor, you can just leave it.

Cool. By the way, this engine has a semi smart smoke unit. It doesn't smoke very well. Would your super chuffer board make it smoke better. I'm going to add a new heating element (8 ohm) or would 6 ohm be better? and a new thing of batting.
The smoke unit already has either an 8 ohm or 6 ohm resistor. I recommend you stick with the 8 ohm as the lower value stresses the regulator and they are a frequent failure item. The smoke unit probably needs new Lionel shredded wick material, and while I'm at it, I drill out the intake and stack openings as much as I can for more airflow.
The Super-Chuffer doesn't change the amount of smoke, it's purpose is to enhance the chuffing, as well as the lighting options it offers, Rule-17 headlight, and automatic cab light control.

Alright, cool. Thanks for the help.
