I'm interested in purchasing the whole set of the Lionel HO Polar Express. The question I have is, when is it expected to ship? It says on Lionel Shipping Schedule of December 2016. But no date yet. I've look up the product number and hobby shops still say Preorder. The reason I ask is because I like to buy it for my sister as a Christmas Present for her HO Layout. Now were to 21 days till Christmas.
"HONGZ" stands for HO scale, N scale, G scale, and Z scale.
Post your non-O scale stuff here!

WMCWOOD - Thank You for letting me know.
Lionel is shipping them this week
Thanks Ken. Also I see someone has posted a video on youtube. My opinion of the engine and cars is great. It may not be top quality, but I'm impressed with the sounds. If you actually click on the video link https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=G73LMbYnKdE also you can view peoples comments and quite a few say it's low quality as it looks like 1970's Tyco and they say the sounds, sound bad. But in my opinion, this isn't Broadway Limited. This is Lionel. I am very happy they did this set and am coming out with it. If the only opinion they should of did was use no silhouettes, but interior with people and chairs. But again, it's Lionel. I have no complaints of the set. I plan on purchasing this set for my sister and I know she's going to like it on Christmas Morning. Actually I did come up with one disappointing part, they should of had it as a complete set and not separate pieces and also a circle or oval for track. But still, Lionel did a great job for HO. Remember, it's HO. So it's small in Hyrail Trains. Anyway, I'm definitely getting the whole set. It even has certain saying's from the movie, just like the 10th Anniversary Berkshire. Accept, the HO version has Santa saying, "First Gift of Christmas", where as the 3 Rail version doesn't but has 16 other saying's.

Hello Tom Jr.
Have you noticed it has "cast on hand rails" along the side of the boiler and missing parts of the valve gear assembly ( in the piston areas) ? just saying that's all.

Good for Lionel!
Hopefully the kids that love the Polar Express movie will flock to the stores and want a set for Christmas! I hope Lionel sells THOUSANDS of these sets!
I just received an email from Mario's Trains that they have them in stock.
Free shipping with any web order.
The video posted is from a guy that I watch a lot of reviews of on YouTube and like seeing both what he reviews and his viewpoint on the items.
From what I see, that looks like you could put that against some classic Lionel HO and it would look right at home (in some cases, better!)
It reminds me of some of the 50's and 60's HO steam that was out. I like the look and sound!
Yea, I've decided since it's almost Christmas and have purchased other things for HO for my sister, I'll pass on this set unless one comes along at a good price.
