I just bought the Lionel PWC Southern ABA set, and then found another B-Unit for this set, which has a "FatBoy Speaker".
It is the 6-34546:

What is interesting is that this unit is advertised by Lionel as having "Legacy" Railsounds and to be used with your "PWC F3 engine sets".
I also notice this unit is available for the PWC Texas Special, Rio Grande, and Santa Fe PWC F3 Engine sets (were there others)?
The reason I am asking is that last year, I bought a Lionel Texas Special PWC F3 A unit with TMCC...only problem was this was the A Unit from the set without the sounds. Thus, I am now looking for the Lionel PWC Texas Special AB set, this unit goes with, when I came across "yet another" type of B-Unit, i.e. the one with the "Fat Boy" speaker.
Am I correct in my understanding that most if not all the Lionel PWC F3 unit sets, whether it was an AA, AB, or ABA, all had the additional option to purchase these "Fat Boy" speaker equipped B-Units?
If so, how do these so called "Legacy B-Units" with Fat Boy speakers, that were made to be used with Lionel PWC TWCC F-3 sets, compare with our modern day "Legacy B-Units"?
For example, the Neil Young B-Units?
I swear, Lionel makes this all so confusing!
