While surfing the internet, I read where the most expensive Lionel collectible

is in fact a yellow burro crane and special hopper combination that goes for eighty five thousand dollars. I had never heard of this Postwar item and am wondering if anyone knows more details.

I don't know where they get their information. It certainly would not be worth 85,000 to me.

I found the same picture on two additional sites. One site claims the price was realized on Ebay.

Some people do have WAY too much money if some of those things actually sell for the prices they listed. Some of those prices are just amazing and all are definitely WAY above my pay grade. Interesting to see what the 'Have's' spend their money on though.

I just paid 85,000 for something...but not a train. I paid that price for our newly rehabbed 3-bedroom rowhouse in Northeast Philadelphia! It's the first house we've owned, and there's plenty of room in the third bedroom and basement for a new layout.

 

Looking forward to some new layout construction in the next few weeks (we have a carpet central up now in the third bedroom).
