lionel Sd60 tmcc smoke problems

I got a Lionel SD60 Norfolk Southern The Engine runs fine sounds fine but when i turn the sound off and the smoke on it sound like a whine..whine..whine over and over I don't think its suppose to do that please help!!

Actually the sound is quite normal. Lionel and other brands use a miniature motor and fan to increase the smoke unit's output; the whine you are hearing is just the motor and fan at work. You can try a dab of oil on the smoke unit motor's bearing to quiet the noise.
