I bought an older (2000) Lionel Hiawatha 15" aluminum coach car with StationSounds and it also has a rail clatter sound but it doesn't sound too good to me so curious if it can be turned off? I guess since I have no experience to compare too I'm also curious if this one perhaps is bad or if they all sound like that. I tried doing a search on Youtube but could not find any examples of rail clatter from a stationsounds car to compare. Thanks for any help!

are you running it conventional or command?
I just tested it in conventional mode because I am waiting on a command base to hook it up in TMCC mode to my DCS system. Why? Thanks
Manual does say there is a volume control on bottom of car

Actually the only sound that is sort of weird sounding is the rail clatter. The actual station announcements are great so I would not want to turn those off.
Ok problem solved. I realized I could turn the volume down a lot more and now the rail clatter sound is no longer so loud it's annoying. The station announcements are also a lot softer and sound better at the lower volume. Thanks for the tip on the volume. Now I can't wait to get the command base so I can hear the rest of the sounds.
