Boy leaving you home by yourself is very good for us UP GUYS. Love those cars and cabooses.
I think you and Aaron should move to the NE. We then could combine our UP equipment and model the entire UP system. What a layout that would be.

If it arrives today, I may have a "Challenging" photo to post later.
Are you trying to collect every challenger the UP had? I hope so,lol.
These next two offerings have paint schemes that don't exactly match the era I like but I don't mind because Seriously....having a crane on your layout is just too much fun!
MTH 20-98750 CRANE TENDER
MTH 20-98746 CRANE CAR
I love this car! Great details. The platform is all die-cast. Nice 6-wheel trucks. The crane movement and actuators for lift and cable are manually moved by one of two included separate doo-hickie-like-screw-driver-thingies (that's the scientific term).
Well I have to get back to being somewhat productive....so one final offering for the day.....
I hate to sound like a broken record but I love this car too. Then again would anyone really spend the kind of money we do on a car they don't love? Nice heavy flatcar with decent details...the Sherman tank is wonderful. Be careful with all the additional detailed pieces. I forgot to take the mounted "Ma Duce" off of the turret once before putting it away and snapped off the machine gun mount. (I'll get around to fixing it.)
As stated earlier this also comes in two separate 6-car sets. Military train types could make an awesome train with these!
Interesting side note. Mike's must have made a deal with HobbyMasters for the tanks. Don't know if they still make them or not but they offered the identical Huston Kid along with many other very cool 1:48 military pieces. I've purchased another tank from them separately that my LHS had in stock... a slightly different version Sherman with soldiers and pieces. Pics of that included too.....
MTH 50-TON 41' WOOD FLAT CAR W/(1) SHERMAN TANK
I know there's a lot of great UP stuff out there that I don't have but I'm sure other Forum Members do....Can't wait to see your pictures when you post them.....

Absolutely! He made my day at work much better!
It was fun for me to pull the stuff out. There only seems to be 5 or 6 of us who like to post on this thread....I know other forum members have great stuff we'd like to see!

Actually, Dave, you should move to the Midwest, Witz and I are fairly close! Just lacking you! I've often thought the same about combining all of our UP equipment and building a huge layout. We'd need at least a 50X100 Ft building!
One thing is for sure, the engine facility would be incredible! We could even have a full circle roundhouse-confident we could fill it with UP Steamers. Between the 3 of us, the only thing we're missing is a 2-8-0-Don't remember any of us posting one...
Dave, I have to agree with Aaron. The Bloomington/Normal IL area sounds like a great place to start up a Rail Club. Plenty of places in Normal we could rent reasonably with enough members and Bloomington has a quality local hobby shop too! Besides western roads might feel a bit out of place in New England.

That's funny! Rest assured, I'll run out of money before that happens!
As much as I love the ready to run locomotives and rolling stock, my heart lays with wanting to scratch build brass, never made in O Scale, UP items. As of now, I have 5 steamers on the list and haven't found time to start any of them. Two different 2-8-8-0 Bull Moose, two different 2-10-2s, and a TTG/Black 4-8-2 MT. There's always something I want to build, right now I'm working on an FEF-1 with a Pittman can motor, ERR, and a fan smoke unit.
I've really enjoyed working with the UPHS during my research process. Bob is a great guy. The books they produce are well written and in simple terms anyone can understand. A great resource at a reasonable price.
Can't wait to see what you build....
Great little loco, I have it and with upgraded smoke and chuffs it runs and sounds great.
merdy Christmas to all and a healthy new year.
Here are some pictures of my UP that I could get to.

Great looking layout and a great collection of UP equipment.
Golly - 4 pages and I somehow missed this thread completely! Must be slippin'..
Here is one of my favorite PW F3 sets that were custom painted (2343/44) by Richard Sherry many moons ago. I always loved teh silver trucks with the bright yellow and lite gray
Hi WITZ and 86TA355SR,
The 0-6-0 Switcher is the only Railking unit that I have and the sound, whistle and bell sound great, they are not the generic MTH sound which is why I kept it,all three main lines are 096 curve and Ross switches.
Mikey
C.Sam,
I have always admired your layout, nice F Units.
Mikey
WITZ 41 the observation is from the GM Train of Tomorrow in the UP paint. Thanks again Scott!!!
Very nice passenger cars. Welcome to everything UP.
David,
Those are fun! and tighter diameter curves too.
That kind of set would be perfect for an around the room shelf layout.
A foot below the ceiling and just above the door/window line would give you a big continuous loop to enjoy a nice long passenger consist like that. Add a tight turning diesel and you would have enough color to catch your eye but it would be distanced enough that you wouldn't mind the simple detail.
Better get crackin' on that construction!
Not UP but being a big fan of western railroads I bought quite a few of the aluminum sets back in the 80's and 90's. Lionel made some great sets back then. All 15" but they look great IMO.
Take a look at the great NORTHERNS. These are also 35+ years old.
WITZ 41,
These 15" passenger cars look great no matter where you run them. They really look pretty good like most trains do on wider radius curves. I have O72 and they look better then most larger cars. Of course that is just my opinion.
Guys it's been awhile since somebody posted on this thread.
I have been putting together the Union pacific city of Los Angelos train. Here is some pictures of what I have so far. All the cars are from K-line
The baggage and RPO ARE 60' and the rest of the train are 72' which is prototypical for the city of Los angelos.
Still looking for a few more of the dome coaches.
Yes I did, been hoping for them for quite While.
Aaron,
I'll be at York on Thursday and Friday. We must meet up if any of you guys are there.
This was on "that" auction site not too long ago. I passed. I would say though I would really like this O Scale 2-Rail Brass Pacific......
But in 3-Rail to pull my GGD TTG Harriman set, and with legacy, and painted like this......
I might buy 2 if they also painted it like this....
.I know I'm a.......Broken record....skip...repeat....skip...repeat.....
Very cool set Aaron, love that E7. That is one fabulous set.
Very nice Aaron, should be a great looking addition to your layout.
Posted this in another thread, but figured I share some of my UP Power.
UP #4014 and UP #3985 in an epic whistle showdown...
UP #4014 on a dark and cold evening...

I am running 3 powered Atlas Dash 8's and 2 GP 60 Santa Fe's
Nice video, thanks for posting.
Arron,
I still own the original Williams UP City of San Fran Passenger Train, she still runs smooth as silk and she is one of my favorite passenger trains. She is one big Williams Train and in order to run her I must mix slightly smaller pasenger cars in with the big UP, the original Williams UP was engineered to run on 054 when running the complete train. Running her from the DCS Hand Held Remote Control via the TR Z4k mode, she runs even smoother than straight conventional, simply an awesome old Williams original.

UP #4014 steams buy.....
Awesome, this thread needs videos!
Agreed...here's my newest acquisition...just received her today...
UP #844:
