Bummer. I thought this would be about Plymouth Industrial switchers.
Fun to see the train, but this is a dreadful commercial. Apparently, anybody can be in advertising.

It WAS 1968-69. That was pretty much standard type advertising back then. Lots of commercials from that era appear dreadful now. Case in point...
Plymouth and Penn Central, both gone.

Those two car commercials aren't near as bad as all those constant, over and over, "……if you have an erection that lasts for more than four hours……." insulting TV commercials, currently showing!

I don't know which is worse? That Ford commercial, or the fact that I remember it. It lands somewhere between The Mama's and the Papa's and the oh so then prevalent and nauseating "Up With People" crap. At least with the Ford spot, your not half through before you know what it is they are trying to sell. Still, it's difficult to see the product through the crowd of alleged talent.
If you can't appreciate a pair of second generation diesels going over a seemingly impossible high trestle shot from a helicopter, and shot well, I might add, you maybe ought to take up golf.
