I'm really sorry for your loss. I sympathize as my dog Lily recently passed. She never cared for the trains, she ran away when she heard the horns! But she did like to howl. I was listening to The Skyliners' "Since I Don't Have You" one day and she started singing along to Jimmy Beaumont's "you" fade out. So I recorded it and mixed the audio into the original song. Here it is if anyone would like to check it out. Skip to the 2 minute mark https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a7X2xasVMNM

John, my wife and I send our sympathies to your family.  Your kitty looks so much like our China we lost a couple years back.  She, too, sat on the layout while I worked on it and ran trains.  yes, they are very much a part of our lives, are they not?  We run a licensed animal rescue for cats and love every one so much.

We lost our RR buddy this week, she enjoyed the trains and monsters and was always there when I worked on the layout. I am sure we will meet again.  we will see you on the other side little girl.

I know just how it is, my friend.  Through the years, we have been through the loss of our fuzzy friends more times than I care to remember, and it never gets any easier.

Yes, you will meet again.  They wait for us on the other side.

My sincere condolences on your loss! We lost our 13 year old black female tabby, Zoe, last fall due to kidney failure, and more recently, her brother, Frannie, age 14 1/2 due to an aggressive sarcoma. Our 9 year old orange male tabby, Red, is doing well, and we hope he will be with us for some years to come. All three were rescue cats, so at least their lives were longer than they would have been on the street!
