I do as Lee does with one of these (similar to it, but different brand) that I got at Ace hardware for about $3 or so, I think that's all it was anyway. I have tried a couple of the holding screwdrivers, but found them awkward to use, at least they are for me anyway. I would prefer one of those, but I guess I just can't get the hang of it.

I know of no electronic circuits in our trains that would be damaged by magnetism, that's not a factor at all.

 

I do the magnetize trick as well, I have a large magnet that I just stroke the drivers on when they lose their grip.  If I need to use one without magnetism, I just use the old VCR tape eraser to demagnetize it.  The old VCR tape eraser works great on steel track to demagnetize it as well.
