Maximum number of locos running at once?

I have eight on track right now, seven made into three trains and one switcher. Two of the trains, are in lash up, one a single locomotive, run in all mode. then the 0-6-0 works the industrial area.

I have run 15 trains at a time. This was using the playback/record feature of DCS. This did not include any lash-ups. I've been avoiding them as I don't feel the speed matching is good enough to not have problems. I have never used the all feature.

I have 7 MTH Premier NS Heritage engines in a lashup (consist), 2 MTH Premier SD40-2 engines in a lashup, 3 MTH Premier E-8 engines in a lashup and 2 MTH Premier SD35 & GP 35 in a lashup . The 7 Premier engines and the 2 SD40-2 engines are running at the same time!!!!

I have 4 main lines.  Using all mode, I did manage to run 12 locomotives.  I only did that one time.  I am a big fan of the all mode.

Four mail lines?  You modeling the USPS?

This consist runs well on a track block fused @ 7.5 amps.  All (5) engines are powered. Click on the triangle to access a video.

I've run four separate command control engines on a (large) single loop. It turned me into a nervous disaster. It was both thrilling and scary at the same time. They were all MTH PS2 motives.

How about 27?  Yes I know it's not DCS.

  9 all at once.. my MU's full loops [1- 2 rail 1- 3 rail] the rest side tracks slow speeds all this on one TIU. took an ac watt reading once..close to popping the circuit breaker in my Z1000 brick.
