Ahhh... Thank you Menards!

Number 4 in my growing Menards collection lol.  I like the little chains holding the load down.

Menards Alaska O Flatcar

At 20 bucks a pop, Menards gets my business as long as they are on the shelf. Ya hear that Menards? Don't reset the train isle after Xmas... keep it year around. The wifey lets me add a new car every Saturday morning on our weekly trip to town.

Lionel can bite me... sheeesh nearly 80 bucks a pop for something no better and made in the same country.

Ted,

That's a nice addition to your growing Menard's collection. Menard's is definitely making some fine looking freight cars. Their pricing can't be beat. Ted, I agree with you about having Menard's set a side a small area in their stores for electric trains all year around. People love trains. And even though, Menard's doesn't need electric trains to bring customers to their store, there are people that would go just to see the trains. I believe it's time for Menard's to branch out into Pennsylvania.

That makes two of us Jim. Now if we could only get about 99998 more people to tell Menards "Year around trains!".

Menards, if you are reading this, you owe me one boxcar of my choice as a sales commission... I helped a gal in the train department pick out a train for her curtain climber... LOL

I did want to add for any O-27ers, so far all four Menards cars I have purchased stick to O-27 track like glue with no issues negotiating the tight radius corners. Locos will derail before the cars do on my little test track. The couplers line up perfectly with older O-27 rolling stock as well (ignore the loco coupler lol, it is wonky anyway).

I discovered Menard's Boxcars last year, with the weathered SOO Boxcars, I also was able to find 3 others. They look sharp!! Are affordable!!-that's dangerous because you will buy more than one like I did. AND the quality is surprisingly good!!

Suddenly our layout is looking really "cool" with the additional boxcars.

I just picked up some of the Army Boxcars and the flatcar with a tank for my son's upcoming birthday. And now find out Menard's has a Army flatcar with a helicopter !!

I am so glad Menard's is getting into this, it's making this hobby a lot more fun and affordable!!
