Greetings! Another Wednesday is here, and therefore another edition of the Midweek Photos for us to share photos, great and mediocre, of railroading we encounter in the real world.
This is the Stourbridge Line BL2 no 54 as we travel along the Lackawaxen River. There are a few areas where the line has sweeping curves to view the train. My telephoto lens captured this angle.
During Railfest, at the end of the day, the Delaware Lackawanna C-425 no. 2423 pushes the excursion train onto the track before putting the locomotives away for the day.
Also, during Railfest, captured the Scranton Limited train whistling for the crossing before passing the boarding platform. This was shortly before the excursion train boarded for Moscow.
A few days later, when it wasn't quite so sunny, I happened upon this Delaware Lackawanna diesel leading one of their locals while assembling a train. M420 no. 2045 passes Mattes Street tower along the way.
Last Sunday, September 22, found Baldwin 0-6-0 again, but this time sitting after a run of the Nay Aug Gorge Limited. The location is just outside the restored roundhouse.
Today, shortly before 5:00, the 2045 leads another train; this time, pulling into the Steamtown yard after picking up cars from the Norfolk Southern Railway, from their yard in Taylor, PA, a little more than a mile away.
That is my contribution for the week. I hope you all had a great Summer. Fall is here, now, and hopefully plenty of opportunities to see trains in action.
