Scott got back to me this morning and offered to swap the shell, so I imagine I'll be sending the car off to CA.

T4TT - you’ve been on this thread since it’s beginning. Thanks for participating and buying into the Eagle offering - and the modest NDM extra / “sidebar”. We were slowly able to add / modify the offering. It was cool to get the NDM 10-6 added into the offering as an extra. It was pretty well received !!! Sometime we have to build our consists one car at a time. I do that with the B&O National Ltd (sleeper interchange with MP at St. Louis Union Station) and the NDM Aztec Eagle (sleepers to St. L. Union Station). For NDM so far I have a 3rd Rail NDM F3 “A” and the new 10-6. 10-5s did not get produced in the Tx. Eagle run 1. NDM had these and they ran on the Eagle (actually preceded the 10-6s). This car is Part of the Tx. Eagle “unfinished business” I Continue To Work On. (There are also 2 other 10-5s to add - PRR and B&O.)
And then there’s Cars in Jenks paint ……..they also ran on the Aztec Eagle 😉

Did you get the TRRA publication on the Aztec Eagle ? It’s pretty good - but I still have questions.  NDM references are few and far between  

Let Scott know you want to see these cars !!  Email Scott. He needs to see that there’s interest in these cars !!!

So out of Curiosity what car names of 14-4's and 10'6's were produced.

Here is what I received:

14-4 "Eagle Beach", 10-6 Pullman "Eagle Domain" (Both in the 8 car set)

14-4 "Eagle Rest" (Extra not from my set)

5 Bedroom Lounge "Eagle Ridge"

10-6 Budd "Eagle Hollow" (In Mopac set w/ Observation)

I try to be responsive but sometimes I’m away.
General Info    
1) I only chose cars of which I had pictures on both sides of car.
2) It was intended that cars used in run 1 would not be used again when the cars were renumbered and painted Jenks blue. When Jenks is done,  the “fleet” expands and everyone continues to get different cars. The 10-6 Budds will be an exception as Scott used all the prototypical names available. The Budd 10-6 Jenks cars are important in building an Aztec Eagle consist.  

NDM names - I’m clueless why the European nations are used for names.
When the NDM 10-5s get done - the names are “seas” - in Spanish “Mar de ______” .  Scott did the 4 names I supplied for the NDM 10-6. The picture I had of “Irlanda” did not have a number so I specified “no number” be used.  So consider it prototypical.  It is not an error.  

10-6 NDM Finlandia, Hungria, Romania, Irlanda  
14-4 MP Creek, Valley, Knob, Stream, Hill  14-4 T&P Trail, Watch, Rest, Beach, Country

The 5BR-Lounge is looking to be a cozy place. This is MP Eagle Cliff.  I think this is going to be another favorite. 🤔

The Texas Eagle made her maiden run last night on the Austin Tinplate Trackers layout. We have our layout setup for Holiday's in the Round Rock Public Library. We're there through Dec. 30th.

The library is 3 blocks away from where the real MoPac Texas Eagle ran through on it's way to Austin and San Antonio.

Great train- nice city-scape.

I can’t resist posting pix of the observation car. Early in this blog, there were objections that the inclusion of the observation car was not prototypical for the Texas Eagle. That’s correct. Scott obliged and graciously gave us the option of reserving with or without (prototypical) the observation car. Well……Very Few went the prototypical route !!! 🫣🫢😳😉  Everyone Loves an Observation Car !!!😜 The car is beautifully executed. Some people spread about - including in the lounge (between the 2 porthole windows), roof antenna, nice rivet detail on the car, and a closed rear coupler (a first?) that punctuates the Streamline car. And the tail end Eagle symbol is a metal add on piece - not a one dimensional decal. Very Well Executed Indeed !!!!!! 🙌  😉

Correct. It ran in the Missouri River Eagle. There were only two observation cars. One is preserved at the “Museum of Transportation” in Kirkwood (St. Louis suburb) Mo.

Were they both lettered for the MP?

My “easy grab” photos are B&W and daytime photos so it’s hard to tell. The restored car in Kirkwood has a orangy-red lense. I’d think a reddish taillight would be best.

Think I read somewhere that the second one sometimes made it out to El Paso on the West Texas portion of the Eagle.

Just remembered I have a third train for the Eagle Cliff. I can run it in excursion service behind the Austin & Texas Central RSD15 #442 I had custom painted. Will have to post pictures later this week.

Yes that's correct. I also have the PH1 Budd Slumbercoach but that's for another thread.

The Eagle Has landed !!! I hope those that opened their GGD boxes for Christmas are as happy as I am !!!!  

I intend to keep this Eagle thread going - I hope the interest continues.  As I find new information, I will share with everyone.

I continue to find new things to appreciate. Check out the 3rail coupling between 2 cars on a straight track section.

Santa came to me as well I unpacked all 8. I’m very impressed with the cars; I was so taken with them I had four of them on the track before I realized I had not removed the thin foam snubbers under the wheels. Talk about fine tuning the cars are set up perfectly and are running great on O-72 Fastrack on my “parlour layout.” You could even run the dome lounge as the obs  which is prototypical and the “lobster claw” is virtually hidden under the diaphragm . My obs arrived with the antenna array bent over and when I straightened it up the stanchion broke but it will be an easy repair - small drop of ACC with a toothpick. I suspect clumsy tying of the ribbon.
I could not resist running it with Lionel’s “Mike that never was”. I then switched  to the Lionel F-7’s in freight scheme. All I have! Both engines walked away with this long train and I did not think the swing of the cars was that bad.  The inner loop with the 70 footers is O-60.
