UPS has been wacko. 😳  Mine were all to be delivered Wednesday. Then changed to Thursday for 1 and Friday for another. Now revised again - 1 back on for Wednesday. Friday remains for part 2.  I don’t understand why all these 2 box orders are being split up. 🤔🤔🤔   🫣🫢☹️  Two days of waiting to sign is a pain. Just so it all arrives safe. 🙌

Griff, your set (1) box will ship out today. You should have received a UPS.COM email this morning.

We shipped most 3R orders Friday last week and most 2R orders and some 3R Monday this week. Just a few left to ship today (Wed). International gets inspected today first before we pack and ship by USPS to them. Just a few. Several people are on layaway and their models have been pulled and are on the hold shelf.

After two weeks we will post what cars are left. There are always some shipping errors, and we have to let them sort out before we sell what is left on the warehouse floor. I know we have some T&P Sets left in 2 Rail due to customers dropping out, and some 3 Rail Mopac sets and we have a variety of cars. If there is something you want, it's best to make a stand-by reservation now, and we will go to that list first when we know what is left and contact customers from that list in order of the date reserved.

Thank you all for your efforts to get your payments in on time. That helps a lot to free us up to sort, pack and ship these out quickly. We don't want to be shipping anything next week, until after Christmas. UPS gets too busy and we fear packages will be mishandled.

Happy Holidays to All from Scott and the Sunset Gang,

Ok I got my T&P and Mopac w/ observation complete sets today. My third box of additional sleepers / Pennsylvania and the N De Mexico sleeper is still floating around at UPS. I pulled out the Observation and all I can say is terrific! The paint matches all the E6's , E8's and Pa's. The yellow stripe is better on the cars than the engines and maybe one was slightly bigger in real life. The E6 is the closest to match (yellow stripe width - I have the first run). The PA's are next followed by the E8's. E8's yellow stripe is almost non existent. Hopefully the E7's stripe will be more like the cars. But to me the cars are a home run. I can't imagine any one being disappointed, but...........

Try to get a pic up here in a little bit.

Joe

Okay here are some quick pictures. Had to sneak one out and put it back. If my wife knew I opened my Christmas present, it would be curtains for me. This is the best I could do quickly using my I phone. (Natural lighting - no sun - shady location)

Before I hear "There was no observation on the Texas Eagle", I know but it was such a nice car I couldn't pass it up and adding 14-4 sleepers was easy. May want to do a Valley Eagle one day. Anyway all T&P and Mopac fans Rejoice. These cars will probably never leave my layout once I get then there.

Unless someone offers info I’m not aware of, I believe these NDM cars are a First for O Scale. I hope there is enough interest in NDM to support more of these beautiful cars. Perhaps we will see …..                   Stay tuned …. 🫣😮   😉

Cheers 😜

I'm drooling over these fabulous new GGD cars.  For their transcontinental service, the PRR had identical ACF built 10-6 sleepers in UP two-tone gray, UP yellow and gray, and standard Tuscan red. If another run of cars is planned, I'd like to see them offered in additional PRR schemes.  Well done, Scott.

The 1948 Broadway limited is up for reservation on the GGD websight now. This ACF 10-6 sleeper is in the consist. Email Scott to see if we can get add on 10-6’s in the schemes you mentioned. L&N and N&W are two more roads that could possibly be added.

My Slumbercoaches and NdeM 10-6 arrived today.  No need to post a picture of the NdeM car until I can fully get it out of the package.  Put the Slumbercoaches in another thread as they really don't apply here.

Wish I had patented the rivets on aluminum cars.  That was a 2 am brainchild.   They look awesome and bode well for future projects if they reserve like UP City series trains.

I'd be curious what the production numbers were for the 8 car sets. It's already a unique train in its own right but in O scale I think it will be a rare and desirable bird. Not a big deal either way as far as value, I'll keep it until I croak

I remember with my Freedom #610 there were only 7 made in 3 rail

I have a regular search on eBay for GGD cars and anything post 2012 just doesn't show up on there ever.  Lots of '38 Super Chief cars and Empire State Express cars, but not much else in the streamlined category.

I've noticed the same. I missed the boat on the Empire Builder and I've been on the lookout for years now. I've seen an El Cap and other outliers but that is extremely uncommon

I need a GGD UP Excursion set in my life. I would sell my Lionel 21" cars in a heart beat

My slight dilemma is that I don’t have a “real” layout, just a carpet double track “parlour” layout as my Aussie HO friend Ret. Air Vice Marshal Collins calls it. A Fastrak O/72 with an inner O-60. My T&P 610 is pulling a freight consist on the O/72. I dislike un and re-railing  that heavy, fragile 2-10-4. I may take the freight cars off the track and let the 2-10-4 pull the Eagle cars! I was going to use the Lionel F-7s in freight scheme; they are hauling the Sunshine Special on the O-60.
Yes I know; neither really fill the bill!! May my eagles land safely!!!

I find heavyweights from time to time, but I think I am getting near capacity on those.  Pushing 50 GGD cars on my heavyweight roster. However, if the 12-1 and 8-1-2s were run in NdeM, I'd probably add a bunch more.  I know Greg would agree

I’ve started building a heavyweight library to “guide” options for Scott when he decides to get back to offering heavyweights. My focus is MP, T&P, Frisco, NDM, Frisco and MKT.  Got to “prime the pump”.  Want to be ready.
Cheers😉

Last time Scott did heavyweights was about the time he did the T&P 610.  So Heavyweights are Overdue (IMHO).
Let Scott know you’d like to see more of them. (Email him)
I think a minimum of baggage, Coach, and a sleeper or two (configuration TBD) would be great. What say you ???
He did T&P last time (4cars) but the numbers Might be small - I Never see for sale in the 2ndary market. There would be the usual greenies but we should be able to get different paint offerings that will match the streamlined paint jobs (like the Eagle). As always, Reservations make or break whether a model/paint gets done.
Cheers 😉

Heavyweights are a conundrum as are any more individual streamlined cars like the great domes and the hospital cars.  According to Scott they cannot be made in Aluminum so will have to be brass.  He believes they will cost about $1K+ each these days and his market will not support that.  I have tried multiple times to get 6-6-4s done.  Thus ensues the conversation.  If you want such please let Scott know.

I was not looking for 3rd Rail Brass Models. I get it that they’ve gotten Very expensive as I’ve bought / stretched for 3 recent 3/4 domes. I’ve also managed a few others in the secondary market - decent prices. I don’t think there’s a market/ stomach for $1K heavyweights.
I’m looking / hoping for Scott to return to the plastic heavyweight market sometime in the future. His models are good and some new models would be nice and I think We’ll Received.
I Understand the details he has to work out too.
Cheers😉
