Several have been made. Atlas did a gorgeous Pullman green wooden express box issued in two numbers I think. There  have been several made in Eagle coooes all standard 40 foot AAR standard boxcars notably with the first O gauge Eagle set of clerestory roof passenger cars done by collectible Toys and trains, MTH, and I think Even Atlas did some too. Lionel made an operating one in kind of O-27 “scale” and a much more scale appearing double door one.

Thanks Griff. I think I've got a line on an Atlas T&P wood reefer. I also found a 1937 AAR single door mail boxcar in Eagle colors. Would those have ever been used considering the Eagle had an RPO?9581-4._TQ

I say run what you enjoy/like but I think back “in the day”, the “crack” trains ran pretty pure - but there’s Always exceptions. Your pictured TP box is my fav and is occasionally seen in print. Second tier trains were more likely to have extra head end cars. My second fav car is a 50’ MP car in Eagle paint by Pecos River. Check out my video a bit earlier herein and check out the cars. As passenger traffic dropped, TP and Mp depended on head end cars for $. You’ll see lots of Mail/express trains if you look. Not exactly Eagle glory consists but still fun putting together.
Cheers 😉

Just got the email from Scott, cars are going on the water Oct 25th and should arrive on Nov 25th. Slumber coaches as well.

Also placed an order for 2 T&P E7's

Yep !!! Get ready for their arrival.
I think Everyone is going to Love em when they unbox them !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hmmmm. 🤔
You think I’m a little biased ??? 🫢😵‍💫🤔🤪 No. 😳………..A lot biased !!!!  🤣🤣🤣🤣

Cheers 😉

I think this is going to be Scott’s best set yet!

Having seen the production photos, I can say that this set will be amazing for those who decided to order it.  Those rivets on the aluminum cars are out of this world.  I only have a single NdeM 10-6 which will be an ugly stepchild in my collection from this set, but I'm still excited for some ferrocarilles del sur!

Awesome! I might actually count the rivets it’s going to be such a great pre-Christmas gift.

You can let me know about your rivet count. I did not specify. The QC check images that were sent Looked Great / Excellent. What I felt was key was that the factory executed the Locations / Spacing of the rivet lines Perfectly. The rivet line placements Are Not Random. Each car side was researched via multiple pictures to obtain prototypical rivet line placement. High resolution builders photos/pictures were accessed thru the Missouri Pacific Historical Society. Script / lettering style was also made available.  The interiors are Very Detailed - the extreme modelers should be very happy. What is to be delivered is very, very prototypical.
For you rivet fans, for now, look Very closely at the Eagle cars posted on the GGD webpage. Go from car to car. You will see how the lines of rivets can vary. This is not artistic license.  It is Real. It is from the photos !!!!
Cheers 😉

I hope that Scott will make sure your “ugly stepchild” Soon has a sibling with the NDM 10-5 and perhaps some cousins - NDM heavyweight coaches. 😮🙂😉

Cheers 😜

Sorry.  Don't have permission to share.  I just wanted to point out that they look great.  Once they arrive in the US and ship the website will be updated, I'm sure.

As for NdeM cars, I'd like to see that funky 6-wheel trucked Budd sleeper in in NdeM paint.  I thought that was the car that was going to be done in NdeM and was a tad disappointed when I learned that the ex-NYC 10-6s would be done in NdeM instead.  I already have several of those in Amtrak.  However, I guess I need to start somewhere.

MP did eventually sell NDM passenger cars. Hmmm. 🤔 I’d have to check if the “funky 6 wheel trucked Budd” eventually went to them. I DO know These MP Budds were used in Mexico on the Aztec Eagle because they rode better than the 4 wheel truck cars. Eagle paint May have gone south for a while but most of their life in use as a MP car south of the border was in Jenks paint on the run to Mexico City.

We need to see these production photos! The GGD site usually gets updated but still just has the renders.

GGD Production photos sometimes are used for “show” purposes on subsequent runs.  You can see examples like this on the GGD webpage with run 2 of the Superchief, Slumbercoach, and Broadway. I like seeing this done - it’s nice advertising for the product.

We will be seeing these Beautiful Eagles Very Soon Now !!!  I hope many of you will be posting Pix And Videos of them when they show up !!!!!

Cheers !!! 😉

First, everyone needs to understand the Texas Eagle did not have an observation car. MP had only 2 and Only ran on Missouri River Eagle. They are only offered here because everyone likes them - usually wants one.
No one took pictures of non-observation MP car tail cars that shows a drumhead. At least I couldn’t find any. Best I found was a folding lattice like gate across rear by the door. So I can’t say if it existed - would be prototypical. There are no plans for a 14-4 drumhead.
The 5BR-lounge (offered as an extra car) is another Possible tail car option. Maybe. Still no MP drumhead. What gets interesting with this car is that it was leased (?) / ran on the B&O National Ltd as a replacement for an observation car. It ran on the NL with MP/T&P Eagle paint with a B&O Drumhead !!! I’ve a picture of this.

For what it’s worth …. “Scale City designs” offers white metal vestibule gates. I’ve ordered some and will see how they can work / be added to a sleeper.  I’ve also ordered a B&O drumhead from Tomar Industries to be used with a gate for my “build your own” National Limited consist. The NL went into St. Louis Union Station. B&O leased MP 5BR-Lounge as a substitute observation car for a time so this will be my NL observation car. I’ve reserved a MP and TP 5BR. One for Eagle use and one for B&O use.

I will be breaking with prototype on this one. I like the observation car and my O scale Eagle will have one.

I knew the owner of the 5 bedroom lounge, the Eagle Cliff. It currently is in excursion service on the Austin Steam Train. Bert had made a special drumhead for use when in it was in private excursion service behind Amtrak. He always made sure to hang the lanterns too.

Below is a picture of the drumhead Bert had made. This picture is by my friend R.J. McKay and is shared with his permission in honor if our friend, Bert Dockall. Bert used the commerative plate the MoPac made back in the day as inspiration for his custom drumhead. Bert and RJ were coworkers on the Austin & Northwestern and the Santa Fe.

I think there will be a lot of people like you running their Eagle With the observation car. Everyone loves and observation car. I bet everyone that ordered a set ordered one. The car is a beauty and the tail end is an exceptional “looker”.
While living in Houston and Frisco Tx. I waited for the Austin Steam Train to complete their steamer restoration. Still waiting 🫣☹️ and will have further to go to do it now - from St. Louis - when they finally finish.  The restored MP 5BR car is a beautiful car. I hope you reserved a car from the Eagle offering.

I understand the T&P obs is a fantasy car but I could not pass it up. I went ahead and committed to the whole 8 car set so I could get one, but I’ve got enough Scot blood in me that I’d have rather had to buy only a 6 car train. I plan on running at least a couple of express boxes plus likely a clerestory roof baggage. Then there are always my Texan reefers such as the Adolphus Hotel (Dallas) one.

Well Griff, you’ll have lots of options on how to run your consist. I’ll end up splitting my cars into different consists as my layout is only 8x12. Even with only O72 and 096 curves, I can only run so many cars at once and not have the nose chasing the tail.😳Some cars will see action in other “build my own” consists like my B&O National Ltd and NDM Aztec Eagle. Then there’s the trade offs - cars vs more than one diesel. No matter !!! I can’t wait to begin the Unboxing …….😜😉

Cheers 🙂

Yes nose chasing tail! An O scale friend used that same alliteration when I was discussing my buy with him. My present “layout” is fastrack on my living room floor and about the size of your layout! Hopefully the 80 footers will like 0-72’

O72 curves work fine for me. I’ve Ross switches and decided to avoid wiring - so I went to groundthrows. Some 80’ cars underside May bump the throw with the throw located on the inside of the curve.  (Curved 072/096 switch). I’m having to move the ground throw further away from the track. 🤪.
You might roll the cars by hand and see how they do if you have any switches you will use. Worth a bit of time to see …. 🤔

Cheers 😉

FYI...  If you got the MoPac 5 Bedroom Lounge car "Eagle Cliff" it can be a private car behind a Late 70's and 80's Amtrak consist. My friend Bert Dockall and his friend Jimmy Vaughan found it out in the boonies near Comfort, Texas and restored it for use in private car service behind Amtrak on the Texas Eagle, the Lone Star, and the Inter-American,

The Eagle Cliff was also used in excursion service on the MKT, the Georgetown Railroad, the Roscoe, Sandow, and Southern, and it has faithfully served the Austin & Texas Central since 1992.

I will run it with my MoPac Texas Eagle and my Amtrak Texas Eagle Superliners.

Can't wait!

Thanks for this cool info Ricky !!!!  I will now have Two non-Eagle uses for the 5BR-lounge - Amtrak and B&O National Ltd.
It’s always great to have new information added to this Eagle thread !!!!!!!
