Modifying the Lionel 6-16109 B&O single dome tankcar

The Lionel 6-16109 tankcar was manufactured by Lionel Trains, Inc, Mt. Clemens, Michigan. (BLT 1-91).  It is lettered for Baltimore & Ohio and designated as a "Diesel Fuel Supply Car".  The lettering on each end of the tank is a nice touch. The model includes sprung metal trucks and couplers.  Although is an O-27 size model it could be used for MOW service along with a work train.

This Lionel tankcar model can be easily modified to improve the appearance. Photos of the model (before and after) are shown.

Comments:  The steps were reworked to improve their appearance. DOT HAZMAT placards were also added.

The entire car is made of plastic.  The lettering is particularly well done.
