The F3s are not Imperial engines. Just postwar copies.

Regardless, I have NO interest in the Santa Fe so yeah, that doesn't change it from dull.

RK Imperial Santa Fe F3 aint dull!

Where are the LIRR locos and diesels?

Excited to see the CA-1 Union Pacific caboose.  I'll order one of them for sure, saved some money this time around as there wasn't a lot of other things I 'need' from the new catalog.

I'm not saying it is a bad catalog in anyway.

Anyone notice the Premier Big Boy 4014 is oil fired and doesn't have the exposed radiators?  Way to go MTH!

This one is free for me - not a thing that makes me want to commit to a preorder. Whistle steam and the 44-tonner are very cool, but for me both are in the future - when they put whistle steam in an engine I want, and when they paint the 44-tonner for Milwaukee Road. In the meantime, I've got plenty of toys to play with and I don't need another Big Boy.

I'd love to get the DB 2-10-0, but it's expensive and there is zero rolling stock to go with it, so that can wait too. Maybe next year.

I will agree with Chipset!  In fact, it may be a Grand Slam!!

I think the Imperial Y6b is cool, but I won't buy one because I have a PS2 version.  The Mallet is also very nice, but one big engine is enough for my small space.    A USRA Switcher may be the ticket for me, if I get some money.

Now for the Premier line, which is too rich for my blood.  However, the N&W J is really sweet!  The Berkshire and Consolidation both look great as well!  And Chipset's NYC Hudson is super!!  However I have a PS1 Hudson with a PS2 upgrade.  It will do on my budget.

While I am not a big fan of diesels, the Bessemer and Lake Erie Tunnel Motor is a welcome sight, since I live less than a mile from the Bessemer and hear their trains from my house.

I think they are missing a bit of the market. I have removed paint from an MTH unit and it is a bear to get off.

Not interested in anything else.

Yes, I wish manufacturers would offer more unpainted locos.

OK... I quickly browsed through the entire catalog.  As with all things in life, you'll get a different answer depending on who you ask.  So far, we've heard everything from a grand slam to nothing of interest.  Pretty much to be expected.

So I'll just weigh in with my stunning endorsement as a definitive "ground-rule double".    Definitely not a home-run and most certainly not a grand slam IMHO, but then I'll be the first to admit I'm in a completely different space these days regarding O-Gauge trains.

I have absolutely no interest whatsoever in the European stuff, although I can appreciate the fact that MTH has struck some interest with that marketplace.  It's just not my cup of tea.  And while I just recently put my name in with a dealer for MTH's recently released NYC Dreyfuss with PT tender along with passenger cars, I'm probably not anyone's ideal O-Gauge buyer these days.  Just a few VERY selective items here and there.  And even at that, it's amazing how quickly one can tally up a $1,500-$2,000 invoice that wasn't in the planned budget!    I don't think I could afford to be an "ideal consumer" anymore.    And fortunately, I don't need to.  But if I'm in any way representative of a significant portion of the marketplace, then these importers are in big trouble.

I was hoping for some Premier WWII Military flatcars with something other than Sherman Tanks on them. I know that was wishful thinking so I guess this catalog is a slow grounder to short and a put out at first base. I only viewed the catalog on my phone so I may of missed something.

The only thing that I saw was a US Army flat with crates. Single car or a six pack.

For the most part, it's all re-runs,just upgrades of the same old locomotives in the same old tired road names. I've already got eight Big Boys, four J's,a DOZEN NYC Hudsons! This goes for Lionel too. This is the second year in a row I've not pre-purchased any large steam from either maker. Is it any wonder that I've been buying Prewar O and Standard gauge Lionel lately.

I miss K-Line

While I cant see them going all in on undec. engines, the 44 tonner is ripe for an undecorated or "data only" version.

I'm looking at the 44T like this.... we all know the tooling takes a few runs to recoup the costs, which means there'll be a few new 44T paint jobs in every catalog from now until 2020. Hopefully, after clearing out the big names that they know they can sell and justify making the tooling, they'll get into some industrial or short line names.

I would love to see a plain black one with just the basic markings, no road number or name, and a sheet of alphabet decals in the box, to apply your reporting mark and road number of choice. A somewhat "finish yourself" job.

Just took a second look and saw the Milwaukee Road E6 set. (J Daddy, thanks for pointing it out.) But, I don't want one for a couple of reasons. First, it's yellow, and I've got enough UP yellow Milwaukee Road stuff. Maybe too much; I kind of have second thoughts about having bought any at all. Second, you can only get it as an ABA set. The Milwaukee did not have an E6 B unit, and that means I'd have to pay for a B unit that I would never, ever, display or run. I sure wish MTH would stop insisting on packaging every passenger diesel as an ABA, even if the railroad didn't run it that way.

Now, if they would make a correct E6 AA set, preferably with the modified lightning-bolt paint scheme as repainted to match the E7's (black roof set off with a yellow stripe), that would be an instant buy.

I kind of liked those, my grandson likes anything U.S. Army and also the crates, loading and unloading them. He can do that for hours on end. I like getting the 6 car sets and then ordering the 2 road numbers offered as individual cars. However, at this point in time I think I will pass.

Does this mean that I can cancel my WBB 44T pre-order?

No way - I'll just do both, As I'm ordering the WBB in Southern, maybe I'll go for something

funky from MTH - LI or NH, maybe.

Years of begging for a scale 44T, and now we have two. This will keep me asking for a

Louisville and Nashville ACTUAL MODEL M-2 Berk, and a NC&StL Yellowjacket 4-8-4.

Maybe I'll have this "problem" with them...?
