Has anyone had success in reading cv's from a MTH HO engine using a DCC system? If so, what DCC system were you using?

Don't know much about DCC, but I thought it was supposed to be a NMRA 'standardized' system, so shouldn't any system be able to read info from any other system and all of the engines?
I have seen threads about the different control systems where some folks list DCC being 'standardized' as why they don't get into O gauge, because O has the 2 different systems and nothing is standardized between them (so to speak).
Any DCC system will operate an MTH HO engine. I mainly use NCE. The reason for that is a lot of guys that bring me repairs run NCE.
Early on after the first few engines people asked for more CV's and MTH opened them. So now they work just like all the other DCC brands. Also any PS3 O scale engine will work the same way.

Are you saying that you can run an O gauge MTH PS-3 loco with an NMRA DCC system like NCE (how about Lenz, Digitrax, etc.)? I knew this worked with HO MTH locos, but never thought about O 3-rail being a possibility...

You may need to use a programming booster to read the CV's on MTH. I needed to get one for my MRC Prodigy 2 system in order to reliably read the CV's in my American Flyer SD70's.
This is for use on a programming track only, not for Programming on Main.
