Eddie,
DCS and WiFi cannot find engine.
Based on the above statement, I'm going to assume that you're using a DCS TIU with a WIU connected, although you weren't exactly clear.
If startup sounds come on immediately, the engine isn't seeing the watchdog signal. If other DCS engines behave the same way, the problem is one of the following:
- The TIU itself isn't being powered via either the Aux. Power port or via Fixed Channel #1 Input. Powering it via the USB connection from the WIU isn't good enough to turn on the DCS signal generators.
- The DCS signal is turned off. Turn it on by pressing: Menu/System/DCS Setup and then the AON soft key.
- The wires between the TIU channel output and the tracks are reversed. Make sure that the wire from the TIU's red output terminal goes to the center rail and from the black terminal to an outside rail.
- The TIU channel is defective.
If other engines behave properly, the engine's DCS/DCC switch is possibly set to DCC. Set it to DCS. If it doesn't have a DCS/DCC switch, you'll have to check inside to insure that the jumper that replaced this switch in later RK PS3 engines is in place.
If it's not a DCS/DCC switch or jumper problem, there's quite possibly a defect in the engine.
