Dynamic Hobbies in Hemet, California. They have a nice O gauge layout with Legacy Control mainly, with O gauge, HO and N layouts next door. They sell HO, O and N as well as Cars, Planes and Boats.

My grandparents used to live in Hemet.   Which part of town is the store located?

Any other stores in the San Diego-Riverside-Palm Springs areas?

Alloway Trains & Things:

Formerly located in Vineland NJ, now relocated in Alloway NJ.

Bob and Viki Dyer are great people and are very knowledgeable and passionate about the hobby.

My Troop Train locomotive shorted out two weeks before Christmas. I have plenty of others, but that is the train that runs under my tree every year, and we would have hated to go through Christmas without it. I'm still pretty weak when it comes to repair, so I took it to Trains n' Things. Bob had it fixed it two days, and it ran like a champ. Saved our Christmas.

Oh, if you're lucky, you'll stop in on a day that Vicki has been baking. Good stuff!

The Train-Station.com up in Mountain Lakes NJ is the best I have found (my limited experience) so far. He has tons of product ranging from high end Tin Type and Vision line GG1 stuff to Ross track and switches. Dave, I believe is the owner, spent a few hours with me a few days after Christmas when it was madness. Really helped me out. They also have a repair facility on premise. I will be heading back up in the next month

In Cherry Hill NJ there is also The Toy Train Emporium. I have made many purchases and Conrad is a great guy. Has always works with me to make sure I got exactly what I needed.

BnB Hobbies in Morestown NJ is a small shop with a lot of stuff. They have a get together on Thursday nights to bull**** and show new stuff that I have yet to attend. But they are a fun bunch and will be probably attending soon.

Everyone has their favorite train stores and it usually has to do with the great people, but I have found a lot of these stores mentioned ( I have visited) do not have a ton of stock in the actual store.  If you are truly asking about a MUST SEE store than its Nicholas Smith.  Just a ton of stock, and not just new stuff, but tons of postwar stuff (in all price ranges) and tons in the warehouse where you can find things from 20 years ago Brand New in box!  You can spend a whole day there looking through stuff.  Plus the toy store downstairs has lots of K-line stuff, die-cast cars, etc.  If you have to choose one, Nicholas Smith is it.

Also trainworld/ trainland

Walker's Hardware, Totowa, NJ, yes indeed. 90 o/o of my locomotives and rolling-stock, all oft track & switches, have come from this LHS owned by Ken Webster. [ 973-942-2694 ].

Ken stands behind everything he sells.

He taught me how to build my bench work , when I had no clue whatsoever, at the very start on 1995.
