It's small details that add so much......Erik's 4 pane window, in the service station  flipped open, is so reminiscent of the '30's and '40's. And the overall dinginess of the station is perfect!

BTW, there is a collection of books describing historic gas stations plus some preserved stations, such as the 1918 Standard Oil station in Rochelle, IL, which are keeping alive an important piece of American history. Also there was an array of historic gas pumps through the years......I'm sure we have all read the name Tokheim on a gas pump somewhere in our past!
