Chris's railroad runs as good as it looks - top notch.  It also demonstrates that with detailed planning and careful construction how a lot of railroad can be packed into a modest space.  

As a fellow N&W modeler, I have long admired Chris' work, it is truly inspiring.   One look at the terrain, the colors and you just feel the N&W.  Thanks for the photos!

Nice work Chris!

Making the water color look like a typical coal region acidic water runoff  "sulfur creek" adds another really great detail that many coal region modelers don't often add.

WOW!!!  Chris...I can't tell that this is not the real thing!!  Absolutely museum quality.  I am still the new guy at OGR so I am wondering...has this layout ever been in our magazine??  If not, then it should be!!

Always a treat to see more photos of your outstanding railroad Chris. So many subtleties such as the low telephone poles  mounted slightly leaning on the downward slope, the rocky shore of the creek, guard rails on the girder bridge, and that "just right" creek water...nothings been forgotten, so special.

Jim, I'll get a track plan posted in time but I have to run out for a while now.

Alan, I really appreciate what you are saying, but I have to say the layout is fool's gold right now. It'll need more time before it is ready to really show. I'm working pretty hard to get there, but there are too many incomplete patches right now.

Stephen, you know the JH came on the scene a year later than my railroad represents.

Simply stated - it doesn't get any better!

This is "coffee table book" material.  It is a lot like being there in 1949.  You publish, I buy.

I've watched Terry's video about your layout many times.  You're a true modeler, craftsman, and rail roader.

I strive to achieve what you have done.  Incredible.

Congratulations, this is truly beautiful work. I am so impressed ...  My 2-rail Rio Grande layout is set in the most barren part of the Utah desert (some might say on Mars) largely because I recognize my limitations when it comes to creating scenery. 

Track plan is in a recent issue of O Scale Trains mag.  Very creative use of so cell.  I look forward to future articles.
