"HONGZ" stands for HO scale, N scale, G scale, and Z scale.

Post your non-O scale stuff here!

Finally helped finish my sisters book report.  She did the The Lost Valentine by James Michael Pratt. My sister wanted to make a scene from the book that was set at a railroad station. We were going to use some old PW frames for the railroad car and caboose but due to a time crunch and the amount of time it would have taken to much time to build the railroad cars from scratch . So I pulled out some of my old Ho-scale stuff and we used two O-scale figures for the main characters since Ho-scale figures are too small. Sadly I won't be getting the cars back since my sister's school gets rid of the book reports after the schools open house night. However, I don't mind since the cars were junkers I had saved. I would have repainted the two railroad cars but just ran out of time.

Hey... that's a Marx/Allstate bay window caboose!  The first HO toy train set I received in 1958 was an Allstate (Marx) with that style of caboose!  Santa Fe Warbonnet F unit, blue w/black door B&M box, a hopper car, a gray gondola, and that caboose lettered for the Santa Fe!

Here's a pic of the set from the 1958 Sears Christmas catalog (set "A")...

I was thinking exactly the same thing that this seems a little harsh! No reason the students/families couldn't be given the opportunity to pick the projects up afterwards and then tossed after a reasonable time if not claimed.
