Well this project has dragged on but I think I finally have it done.... most of the figures are 1/55 Warhammer war gaming figures; they were posed not in combat but in ”At ease...” stances. There are a couple of 1/48 monogram bomber mechanics and a Bandai German I converted. The sun helmet head was in the Preiser 1/48 US WW2 military set. You get lots of good web gear and guns in the set including BARs, Thompson’s, M-1s, M-1 Carbines, .45s, and 03’s although they are A3’s which the USMC did not use. I modified them to more of regular 03s. There is also a rocket launcher. I left the interior light tan to try to show off my figure work... at least that is my excuse!

Great job even for a marine. Go Army.

Okay, I'll take that end bottom bunk, thank you very much'...
Well done Marine.
Boy the sarge is lax, look at the gear adrift!!! Nice scene, brings back memories of berthing compartments.
No Hommes 40, Chevaux 8 for the USMC, then!
Beautifully painted!
Semper Fi brother!
Semper Fi to my fellow Marines and a very hallowed Memorial Day to those who came home under a flag!!!!
Great job. Very realistic.
Fantastic work! The dice game is a nice touch, I assume they rolled "Boxcars!"
Which set did the Warhammer figures come from? I play 40k and all the imperial guard units I see have body armor and laser rifles/pistols.

The kit is US Marines. I have the box and can give you the correct nomenclature. It was a gift from a buddy. Thanks to all for the nice comments! I have dual, maybe triple allegiance, I had seven years of Army ROTC and was an Army brown bar coming out of college. Changed to the navy but my entire brilliant two year career was with the Marines.

Did a quick search on the internet and found them! You have inspired me to start working on my cars.

Looks fantastic!
Way cool!
This is a fantastic scene Griff. Are they shooting dice? Reminds me of one of the Abbott & Costello movies where they we're shooting dice on a train, "clubhouse, clubhouse." This comes alive.
Looks fabulous! My Atlas troop cars are still empty and I would appreciate a picture of the US marines set box and part number. I can't find it. All the Warhammer marines seem to be from a very different era (and planet). Thanks!
Bandai made a bunch of 1/48 US infantry years ago and Tamiya has a couple of sets available today. The Preiser set is also excellent and has an MP, an officer, two females, a nurse in whites and a combat nurse... Preiser heads can be added to a civilian wearing a suit and he is suddenly a GI in class A’s. Women figures in skirts /suits are easily repainted as military. I’ve added many military figures to my military cars over the years.
